Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Was quite ambitious doing a full night shoot, and it took a lot of work (and learning!), but I'm happy with the result. Look forward to more projects like this one! I would also suggest watching in 4K, as KZbin compression can be fairly brutal at lower resolutions!

Loved the short film, good cinematography. Bit of feedback as I know in the industry it's hard to find, but just my opinion. Your lighting of the car was good nice key and gelled well. Busy street type feel though and with the sound so active don't be afraid to add a moving edge light almost another cars headlights practical, or even another tungsten light (street lamp practical) gelled down for just a more lively feel. If you ever film someone driving at night as an experiment you can see the amount of lights in a suburb is insane. If you capture a few of them it gives a more realistic feel. Nice interior shots, the anamorphic lens was a weird choice but good and the Ursa held up well. A lot of unmotivated practicals though like the lamp in the background. It's hard to think of good practicals but it just seemed odd to me. Maybe instead a left on TV. Then in the mid's and close ups use a LED gel it +1/2 CTB and play with the dimmer and you've got an interesting effect to play with rather than a tungsten bulb hitting the top of the wall. Nice effect but brings the audience out of the story. Last but not least, lens choice. Anamorphic definitely helped to bring the 'cinematic vibe' to it although sometimes you've got to think about what you're doing and if it enhances the story. I'm pretty sure you only had one lens which was interesting as I felt I never truly knew what was going on as there was no establishing shot. Or even just a wide or nothing even past a cowboy. Overall great though, I believe you basically directed, dp'd and covered many other areas as well. I know as a DP you want to capture the best image possible. Just remember the best light for the story, 80%-90% of the film is the story. Chivo, Deakin all greats are so great because when you look at the images it's holy sh*t. But at the same time, it doesn't distract or take away from the story.
