I got to play one of these at CME and compared it to a two rock vintage deluxe and I really preferred the amplified nation. It's a great sounding amp.

Usually I don't care about playing demos very much. Everyone has a different setup and situation so I usually would rather hear about the product so I can get an idea of if it's something I would like. But these Amplified Nation amps sound so amazing that the playing demos are my favorite part. I think I prefer the last one slightly because I care more about the dirt than clean but this is amp is still amazing.

This reminds me of my youth searching for that "Tone" especially "That Distortion"... not just break up or OD... I wanted to sound like my heroes... and way back then you only got rumors and hearsay from other guitar players (most being 13-16 years old with steadfast opinions)... Then I found the Big Muff! It didn't matter which amp you had (mine was 1960"-ish Blonde Fender 60w head with a 2x12 Jenson loaded cab....reverb in a box sat next to it)... it was heaven. So amps like this never made sense to me... I now have a Mesa Boogie mk v 35w combo.... killer amp and a clean pedal platform that is pure tone.

I ignore Amplified Nation and Dumble because I only play hi gain stuff. But your first review of their product blows my minds. Even I surprise myself. How come a hi gain fan, like myself, can easily fall in love with clean and breakup tone of that amp.

That natural tremolo effect is not easy to come by. It’s one of my favorite things about high wattage vintage Fender amps. Overdrive kills it with all of the extra harmonics. If you really like a Dumble style amp, there’s a lot of schematics out there of very famous examples. Building one yourself is always an option if you want to save a lot of money. You need to learn a lot of things to do it right though. That’s why nice amps like this cost a lot of money.
@j_freed

And - whether people appreciate it or not, other peoples time and know-how IS worth money. There's no way I would build some of these musical things for the money they sell for. There's easier ways to make good pay and not deal with soldering turrets & gluing Tolex... This is LOVE work. I respect this fellow.

Cool video. Thank you Phil. I am getting a used Morgan SW22Rc (1x12) tomorrow. I have read it is based off of a Fender DR but also read it was based off the SSS. All the articles I read say it stays very clean which seems more SSS than DR. The original SSS was only clean, correct? It does have a mid control and bright/bass switches. Does anyone know about this amp? I am hoping it is a good pedal platform. I have heard good and bad things about Joe Morgan. Mine is about 8 years old so I don't know if that matters. Thanks

I'm curious about the volume on that 50W amp. I'm using either an 18W or 20W head and 2X12 cab w/cream backs for a ~75 person room, and it's loud enough. That amp sounds really good!!! 8) Thanks, --gary

Volume won't be notably louder than an 18W or 20W head, but you'll have a ton more headroom which leads to being cleaner louder.

Next to me is an Amplified Nation Bombshell Overdrive with a 1x12 cabinet. I‘ve played various guitars through it, an Ibanez Satriani as well, and it brings out the best of any of these guitars I‘ve plugged in so far. Anyway, do not expect ridiculous hi-hi and more hi-gain chainsaw heavy metal sounds from it. Listen to all the Robben Ford stuff, that‘s what you get from it. However, if you use a hi-gain pedal then this amp will do the real heavy stuff as well.
