Watching this remembering Mike Henderson. He and Chris wrote most of the songs on their first two albums as well as many of the songs on the third album although they had both left the band by then. How in the world these guys didn't become absolutely huge is beyond me. RIP

IMO this was not only the best bluegrass band but the best band EVER. And that first album is my all time favorite of any ever. I met them in Florida shortly before he left them. Stapleton is on humble guy

I was lucky to catch him in Feb.2020, "All for the Hall" in Nashville. Many great artist, but chills when Chris and his wife sang.

This was the beginning of when people would know who the MAN actually is....Chris Stapleton set the vocal bar so high that it's untouchable by any country or bluegrass singers.

They do, just without Chris Stapleton. The new guy, Kelvin Damrell is pretty darn good. Saw them in Charleston last week.

They still play and tour, just Chris Stapleton is gone, Gary Nichols took his place and is great as well! I still love em, music is awesome!

You say it’s SD not CS but seems like A lot of Chris Stapleton to me. You can put 15 bluegrass bands on radio and just listen and they all may sound similar, but put Chris Stapleton and Jason Aldean on radio without saying you gonna know who is who!

@@averygentry35 Are you speaking to me? If so, certainly not. Bluegrass music is the most heartfelt music there is. Chris Stapleton used to be with the Steeldrivers and that is where I first heard of him only because I listen to Bluegrass.

I totally get what you’re saying. It’s going to be one of those deals where people say, “I had a chance to go see him live and never did”. He’s as talented, if not more, than Waylon or JC. As much as I never thought that would be possible, Chris can do it all. From singing with Jamey Johnson to Ed Sheeran. Endless ability.

wesstiles When I was in college said me friends of mine were going to a concert and asked me if I wanted to go. I had no interest because I’d never heard of the band before, so I just went with some other friends to a bar and shot pool. And that, my friends, is how I missed seeing U2 on their first tour....🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

Chris's singing reminds me of Gregg Allman. Chris does a very respectable version of Gregg's 'Whipping Post'. One of the best new faces and an incredibly talented fella.

There is absolutely NO comparison of Chis Stapleton to Gregg Allman. Chris Stapleton is fantastic and has his own style, however Gregg Allman was Gregg Allman and no one will ever compare ✌❤🌻

Like most men you have no idea what you are talking about because you know nothing. I followed the Allman Brothers and even saw them with Dwayne and Randy Oakley. I even saw Gregg Allman Laid Back tour. Like I said Chris Stapleton is fantastic. He does a great cover of Whipping Post and I love everything he does. He is just NOT a comparison to Gregg Allman. There will always be one Gregg Allman and Chris Stapleton has picked up the torch thank God for the future of music. You just shut the __ up! You little turd✌❤🌻

One of the reasons I like his music, it describes how I lived a lot of years, till it was killing me and lost most everything I loved. Then, Starting over. Life sure got better without it. Hit 14 years sober this last march.

They’ve had two other lead singers since Chris left and every record gets better. They were well respected studio musicians fir years too they started the SteelDrivers. My parents have seen Tammy play since she was 16 at Bluegrass festivals all over Texas. They are all fabulous musicians. My now Bluegrass husband took me to see them and he fell in love with their sound and that was in February if 2020.
