I'm not sure he can fire him. There still may be Tomlin loyalists. And they could be key players like Minkah and TJ. If that is the case, firing him may cause irreparable damage to the locker room beyond this season. Now, maybe if they keep losing, he loses these loyalists, but we just don't know. But if Tomlin leaves under the guise of resignation or mutual parting, that would be a different story with any loyalists. I personally want to trade him to Tampa for their 1st. Trade him while he has a year left. My concern is they keep him, and he sucks again next year, and then we can't get a damn thing for him. I suspect the Rooney's will let "wholesale" changes take place. IE bring in a new OC and other coaches as well as draft another QB. They'll act like these are the necessary and NEEDED changes to right the ship. Also, if they're bringing in a new OC, it won't be a good one unless they extend Tomlin b/c there needs to be stability at HC. No decent OC is coming into a situation where he may lose his job after 1 year as they let Tomlin go. So, they either let him go this year, extend him, or bring in an OC who is told he will be the next HC of the Steelers. Back to a mutual departure, that may happen by them not extending him and letting his contract end this upcoming season. I hate to say it, but i think we're in this BS for at least another year b/c of the dynamics. The only way Tomlin gets canned is if ownership, the GM, and key players are all on one accord. Otherwise, there is a massive risk moving forward that the team will be split until he leave s. And that will have us losing games again next season.

I have been watching the Steelers for 50 years and dont ever remember being dominated weekly like this. I remember the 1991 season getting blown out by the Redskins at home but otherwise we have always been competitive. A changing of the guard is required and the entire coaching staff must go. This is the most unwatchable Steelers offense in recent history, and we had an offense with Rudolph, Hodges, and washed Ben at QB, banged up James Conner, Benny Snell, Kerrith Whyte, and Trey Edmunds at running back, and Deon Cain got consistent snaps at wide receiver for the final month and 1/2 of the year. Did I mention Fictner playcalled for that offense too?

I think Mitch threw 2 picks instead of 3. Najee had the other turnover. The team is ravaged by injuries but a good coach can get them to compete hard. Strange thing is ever since Minkah came back they went into the tank. I’ve been so tired of Tomlin for ages. I never liked the guy from day one. I always thought he was overrated. He’s now made a habit of losing to rookie HCs & sub .500 teams these last few years. He can talk a good game, but his decision making is often strange & nonsensical.

One huge problem is that I don't see an overall stand up team leader. It's hard to put that on Kenny's shoulders... he's still fresh. The placenta is not even off him yet. I believe he can grow into that, but he needs ears that want to hear it. Maybe there are a few on the O line that are too immature to allow themselves to hear it. That's when the coach steps in. Grab them by the face mask. Guide them back to their lane (so to speak).
