I've bought comics since 1982. The first issue of Nexus i saw was #6. I've followed Nexus and Steve Rude ever since because of his fantastic art. The thing about his art is that his early work still looks great and if he hadn't developed at all his style would still be fine. However, he did develop, unlike most of his contemporaries. Proof of his dedication shows in "The Coming of Gourmando." Outstanding work.

Yeah, I was a late comer to his work, but became a huge fan ever since.

@@TheComicLounge Just a couple of weeks ago a friend introduced Steve Rude's work to three younger comic fans. They were very impressed.

I could see Genndy Tartakovsky on a Nexus series, but I feel Steve Rude may be too strict on the direction and specifics of what he wants the animated series to be. Although his desire for perfection is warranted, a creator should be open to new ideas/directions, as long as those approaches respect the source material (e.g. Batman: The Animated Series). I was there at Steve's panel, where he premiered his three minute pilot. I want to see this made.

Great interview! If I ever win the lottery I would sure as hell fiancé a Nexus pilot! I’ve been reading Nexus since 1983 and to this day ❤love it and appreciate the effort and passion of the creative process and making the characters so fulfilling over the years! Who is Gormando storyline was literally a page turner for me and I haven’t been that interested in a helluva comics of late especially from so called big 2 corporate marketing watered down crap events which at the end of the day is shit quantity over creative quality and that sucks but that’s how they want to proceed and I’ll read a few things from them here and there but that’s it! Baron/Rude stand out among the 1980’s/1990’s indies with a really great premise for a intriguing character /supporting characters who 40+years later are still an interesting and enjoyable to read! This is a great interview and thanks 🙏 for asking great questions!👍🎯❤️🥃⚡️
