Why not use the empty column to put your Juniper berries in, and the gin basket for the other botanicals?

Hi there, I was just wondering...is it necessary to have the gin basket if you have the straining bag? Could you not just put all of your botanicals into the straining bag? And is there an online shop you would suggest to order both from?

Few questions :) 1) Could you use fresh fruits in the bag? 2) Do you have to take the saddles out when using the basket? 3) I'm wanting to infuse my alcohol with fresh fruits and flavors, what would be the best way of doing this? Is it after the distilling step? I have seen people adding fruits to their wash- wouldn't that affect the sugar level?

T-500 instructions say not to use the reflux condenser when using the gin basket. But if this is true, pot still distillation doesn’t produce the ABV necessary for a liquor to call itself gin. In fact you’d eve making low wines correct?

hello richard the last time i tried with the saddles in place mine coughed and spluttered and i had to run it a bit hotter faster to get the liquid through,i will try again but put the berries in a bag and smaller items in the basket,did yours run as normal when you did gin or did you decrease your water thanks
