@denisehomestlno54702 жыл бұрын
You know that mate , why attack him he can't help it all he did was take job on that many wouldn't and did his thing he ain't tryna be reni , plus they needed a drummer cos the fans would really get pissed of if they had to cancel due to not being able to find a drummer on par with reni , now that would b something to moan about, anyway they all got back together in the end and got very rich

Yep. New version with Robbie on drums and Nigel Ippinson on keys. I will always wonder what would have happened if John Squire didn’t fall off his bike and they played Glastonbury ‘95. Could have been the Reading debacle a year earlier - or could have sparked a Rocky style comeback on Channel 4? If was Pulp’s time though, first time they played Sorted for E’s and Whizz, and Jarvis said the title was inspired by Spike Island.

@lil' dump This ranks as one of the most dumb fuck comments I have ever seen. Liam’s always sounded better than Ian and his voice in the 90s is one of the greatest rock n roll voices there is. No one says wonderwall is their best what a silly thing to say. Please try and tell me that the likes of Live Forever, Some Might Say, Don’t Look Back In Anger and Slide Away are bad songs. They are better than anything the stone roses ever did. Noel’s melodies are the best in the business, give me a melody better than Listen Up. Such a casual comment. And musician wise, Alan White was a great drummer. Other than that they are limited but when the melodies and songwriting are so strong so who cares. Oasis absolutely deserves to be in the list the guy made above.
@paulph1200214 жыл бұрын
@ianbrownshairdo Yes, all Robbie Maddix seemed to do was play the same drumbeat to whatever Roses song he happened to be playing on. After hearing this, I reminded myself of how good Reni was by listening again to the proper version with him behind the kit. Doesn't compare.

This is after Reni left the band. They had Aziz Ibrahim on guitar to replace John. Only Ian and Mani remained. They perform just once and Stone Roses was laid to rest. Mani joined Primal Scream while John formed Seahorses. The controversies and legal dispute prevented the band from legendary status. Tragic!
@lucasm38797 жыл бұрын
That's the myth, but it's actually not true. What ruined this band wasn't bad luck, it was simply musical differences, growing apart, laziness and also drugs. The court case was actually ruled in their favour in May '91. They could have made Second Coming then. Instead they chose not to start until March '92, and then took two and a half years to finish it. John Squire wanted to go in the rock direction, while the other three didn't. John Squire won the power struggle, the album is the one he wanted to make. Squire is a talented guitarist, but he lost his way, the Seahorses were just a shit Charlatans.
