I find it funny when he thought Squire was an "ok" guitarist when he heard Waterfall, but he was focusing on Reni!🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

There’s a KZbin clip of Reni’s drums isolated - well worth a listen. Much as I’ve always thought he’s an incredible drummer, I thought this was a fairly “straightforward” bit of drumming until I really listened to that on its own. It’s fantastic.

Agreed. I found this gem a few years ago. There's also an isolated track of Squire for this song as well. Here's a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4qad3yhjMqjgLs

Another great reaction boys. There is a 3rd album ! that was made by putting together their non-album singles and eps plus a few b-sides, its called Turns into Stone and i would highly recommend it, its as good as their other 2 albums. So the story goes (no idea how true it is) that John Squire had a dream that had him watching the crucifixion while hiding, but Jesus was a black woman, he woke up the next morning and started writing Love Spreads. Keep on keeping on.

Is that not regarded as an E.P though man? You're right either way some great tunes on there 'Standing here' 'I'm comin down' just 2 from a bunch. Even that 'The Complete Stone Roses' that Silvertone released after they signed to Virgin was about 20 tracks of straight TUUNES. 'Where Angels Play' I think is me favourite..oh now imma have to and listen to it..lol..Great group.

What I've heard is that John had a dream about meeting the messiah and she was a black woman. The line "I had a dream, I've seen the light, yeah she's alright, yeah she's my sister" I think if they hadn't imploded just after this album I think it would have really done well in north America. Please listen to "driving south" or "Daybreak". Best Roses album for me.

Thanks for dropping in. Love Spreads did get a lot of radio airplay on many of the mainstream rock stations at the time. It's what first drew me into the band. Then a few years later, I worked with someone who was a big fan of the band and guided me toward their 1st album. Loved the band ever since. - Greg

Great reaction again and a good joke from the Gutter Man 😂 If you haven't heard it, you should also check out "Turns Into Stone" which is a B sides compilation from around the singles on the first album. Some great tunes and live favourites on there including Mersey Paradise, Where Angels Play and Going Down (possibly the most beautiful song ever recorded about oral sex!)

Nice reaction, probably the best song on second coming? If you haven’t heard the 12” version of elephant stone (not the 3 minute radio edit or the version tagged onto the American release of the debut lp), you really should, for me that’s in their top 5 greatest songs.

Reaction is spot on. I know you liked the format of I am the Resurrection and Fools Gold, the song then the jam. Their second album has a sublime new song following that format. If you liked those first two, then listen to the album version of "Breaking into Heaven". 11mins 27 secs - it has some moments that blow your mind. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2bNeXqefsaghJY They are incredible musicians - this is a song for musicians and shows how versatile they are.

Brilliant tune from an enormously underrated album, but by this stage Oasis had almost made them obsolete. A real shame it took the band so long to follow up on their debut, but the Roses aren't the Roses without some drama. Keep up the good work, lads. I've enjoyed watching these. 👍

@@leerobinson4308 Noel did love the Roses, but the Roses split in 96 when Squire left. Oasis had already released two albums, played Maine Road and were about to do Knebworth by the time they split, so they definitely weren't after them.

Their debut album is still my all time fave album. Second Coming is a mixed bag for me. Love Spreads is the stand out, but not a lot of tracks stick with me. Unlike the first album where every track is amazing. Even the B-side tracks and non album singles(One Love) are classics. I think it boils down to sound. That shimmery jangly 60s sound works for me vs Squire’s coked out Jimmy Paige cosplay. He sort of took over and laid his parts over everyone else making the whole thing feel lackluster. The songs just aren’t there.
