The original footage carries on for about 5 more seconds where Ian breaks out into a Monkey Dance. Shame it’s not in any of the other KZbin videos. Classic Television!! Heard in an interview with John Squire on Radio that they turned the amps up after rehearsal cos they didn’t think it was loud enough and that’s what tripped the fuses. Funny how they then blame the BBC engineers 😂

Sorry I can’t remember which one it was. It was a KZbin video of the recording of the Radio session. Just the sound, no video footage. There is maybe 4 or 5 KZbin videos of John Squire speaking on his own in radio interviews so check those out. Bless 🙏

I remember hearing that the reason the audio cut out is because John's guitar was so loud it had fucked with the electrics, makes sense as he turns on the flanger and distortion pedal just before it cuts out, and gretsch guitars produce a lot of distortion, don't know if true or not

Their manager Gareth Evans claimed he pulled the power on purpose as a stunt. It was planned, as it would have more impact than a straight performance. You can tell the Ian isn't actually surprised and is playing up to it
