I love the subtle geometry of the red cymbal's bell. You can clearly see that the shape was carefully honed with tonal consistency in mind, attention paid to preserving the cymbal's overwhelmingly dry quality. And then to top it off with hammering so delicate that most trained eyes would be hard pressed to find the hammer's witness marks. Truly, this is the work of an artist

The best part is that it doesn't even sound bad. It just doesn't sound, at all. I can barely hear it when other parts of the drum set are playing. The sound doesn't change when different parts are hit. What little there even is to begin with.

That was so unbelieveable absurd I love it. I was choking I was laughing so hard when you would cut back to the stop sign. I will admit I was surprised how flat the stop sign sounded, I didn't think that stuff they put on it would affect it so much. Fantastic video. I’ve got a crazy idea: what if… and hear me out… what if we took like a huge 30” inch ride cymbal, cut it into a hexagon, and put a huge “STOP” sticker on it. It would look like a stop sign with a hump in the middle and sound like a ruined cymbal, it’s just like in the video, only combined, to make a somewhat tolerable mess

My favorite unconventional "cymbal" is a galvanized steel trash can lid. Putting it on a stand isn't an option (because it's ungainly and tips any stand I've tried to put it on) so I drove a screw into the rafter above my kit and hung it using a piece of clothesline.

When we were kids, there was a sign dump nearby. We went to the sign dump, took signs, hung them on the wall in my room. They were heavier than we expected (steel) and larger than we expected. I had no idea the whole time I had a really really awful sounding bad cymbal on my wall. Now I do. I learned something today.
