American rave godfather Frankie Bones captures why Lieb's music is truly the best of its kind. This quote is so enlightening: "I think those of you who can really tune into the frequency of Lieb's work can understand what the true essence of Techno is. While respected by his peers, his trance and techno somehow cancel each other out. It seems each group cannot grasp his perfect balance of the two.” High praise from legend to legend, and it shows Lieb is not just trance - but just brilliant electronic music and one of the greatest in dance culture. Lieb captures dance and emotions like no other I know; been a major fan since first hearing "Fragile" in the 1990s. Bones's statement was made in 2004, when he was trying to show fans why Lieb's music stood apart from other trance and techno artists, but should be embraced equally by both. People are realizing though what a perfect balance he truly has produced. Lieb also already had a massive influence in international dance scenes from America to Australia in the 1990s; mad respect for such wonderful music and his massive legacy in trance, techno, and beyond.

what is your opinion on "Into Deep", his masterpiece?
@Azottimusic27 күн бұрын
LSG - "Netherworld" is undoubtedly a masterpiece of electronic music that has been a source of inspiration for me and countless fans worldwide for many years. This track is more than just a piece of music. It's a portal to another dimension - the very "Netherworld" that Oliver Lieb so masterfully captured in sound. Every note tells a story, and the atmosphere of the track transports you to a place where time and space cease to exist. Every time I listen to this piece, I am overwhelmed with emotions. On one hand, there’s the mysterious depth that draws you in, and on the other, a powerful energy that propels you forward. The hypnotic progression, smooth transitions, and perfect balance between melody and rhythm create a magnetic pull that’s hard to resist. What fascinates me most is how the track blends minimalism with complexity. From start to finish, "Netherworld" feels like a story unfolding - one that sounds new every time you hear it. This is where Oliver Lieb’s genius truly shines: he crafted a timeless track that remains as relevant and captivating today as it was in the ’90s. I’m beyond thrilled that my friend Twan had the opportunity to interview this legend. Hearing the story behind "Netherworld" directly from Oliver Lieb is a true gift for me. This track is part of my musical DNA and has had a profound influence on my own creativity. Thank you, Oliver Lieb, for this masterpiece, and thank you, Twan, for allowing us to dive even deeper into its magic. Greetings from Kyiv Ukraine! 🙌

Oliver Lieb, my Hero of the 90s and a true Legend!! Best Track in my eyes: L.S.G EP "Fragile 12" Mix" !!
@otherworld84512 ай бұрын
There is no teacher who can teach anything new. He can just help us to remember the things we always knew deep inside us. When i see Oliver, i am having this feeling of spirituality. He was and is still my teacher through his music. Since very young age i had always a feeling i have a special connection with music. That some specific music is speaking to me on a deeper level. How much music can give and that all answers you are looking for life can be found deep inside the right music. How much it can inspire you and the power it has to shape your personality, but above all it can give you this special feeling of sorcery, purity and total freedom. He always transmitted something deep to me and he will be forever my nr. 1 hero and the only person that made me cry like a kid when standing in front of him, because i respect him like no other person on this world. What Sasha is for DJing, Oliver is for music production and for me the first man i think of when i hear words "space music" or "hypnotic music". When i see those two men i understand how rich life i had with my connection and passion for the music. What a sorcery electronic music can be and what it means to travel the space and your deepest innerself through music. Oliver was the first who showed us how much beauty and romance lies in deep and dark space, alien music and influenced so many musicians in the 90s, 00s that are big artists today. He was THE man of the 90s when it comes to creativity and way ahead of others. For me he was the peak of electronic music history. He could transmit this combined mixture of touches of beauty from the darkness, sadness, hope and romance from space music like no other. For me he opened the gates with a few of his tracks where i hit the wall of my deepest soul and my real innerself. No bullshit fame or likes hunting, just a pure oldschool music professor who understands the power of synthesizer sounds and who just wants to play in his music lab. Yes, Netherworld is an anthem for life, a timeless classic and pure hypnotic magic (my favourite is the Incolumis Remix which took the break on even higher level then original), but the biggest masterpiece of him is the "L.S.G. - Into Deep" album, which is pure sorcery and biggest symphony of electronic music history for me. The holy grail of electronic music history. The highest form of otherworldy music experience, once you really dive into it and totally feel it. This album made me speachless so many times. For me its the most unique thing i have found in 25 years of exploration of music. This album is not just fantastic music, its a unique magical journey into your deeper self, into your soul and can be a spiritual healing. The ups and downs through which this album takes you and a breathtaking ending with the awakening and healing, coming out clean and full of hope for the future. When the track "Into Deep" colapses its for me the most special music experience i have found so far. The track feels like hitting the wall of your deepest soul, cleaning and rebirth. Pure magic and genius work! I wish more people would get to this album and maybe experience this. His trance and techno work were insane good, but i love him even more for his ambient stuff like Into Deep, The Unreleased Album, The Singles Reworked or Inside Voices which show the best why he is a magician and electronic music wizard like no other. Other masterpieces that should not be forgotten: L.S.G. - Hidden Sun Of Venus (12 Version), Blueprint V2, Hearts, Lonely Casseopaya (album version), The Train Of Thought 1.2, Fragile, The Hive (Club Mix), Ecano - Sphere 1, Java - Cosmos (just listen to the intro of this track...), SMOKED - Polis (definition of dark and dirty), Spicelab - Falling (the track that defines space music for me), The Ambush - Sun (what a masterpiece) and the track that is not spectacular but always brakes me with its pure beauty Saints & Sinners - Peace (Oliver Lieb Remix) and is my favourite remix of him. Oliver, thank you for everything! Thank you for letting me experience perfection and pure magic with your music. You are my spiritual leader and hero forever. I bow to you! Thank you Twan so much for this video!

Hehe, it took me over 5 (!!!) years to make this interview happen, very, very happy about this one! BTW, I don't do requests, sorry! I have a loooong interview wish list, but I can tell you one of the tracks you did mention is on it. Hopefully the producer is up for it and I hope I can make it happen next year (schedule for 2024 is full already). And... I only do interviews about originals, not about remixes, plus also, I can tell you that a Tiësto interview is not gonna happen. Anyway, lots of stuff in the works, already working on some names for next year, stay tuned and thanks for the support!

@ yep of course i know that the channel is not based on request but i shared the list to inspire may be 🤷🏼♂️, because those tunes have unique sounds, tho the Junkie XL remix of dirty sticky floor is like a complete different track from original and Tom is probably the best sound designer alive cheers and keep doing the good job

@ oh don’t get me wrong, that’s an amazing remix! But some of the reasons I don’t do interviews about remixes, is because a remix is often “just” a remix request, with hardy any cool background story (which is what this channel is about hehe), plus artists rather talk about their own originals instead of a remix they did for someone else. Would love to do 1 or 2 interviews with Junkie XL about some of his amazing originals hehe. Hopefully one day! 🤞🏻
