That real story name was bokato and not pulie it's located at Zhuneboto..

Your story is a bit inaccurate. Please make a correction on this, a deeper study from the textbooks or research would be good, as it is more accurate. Not to hate on you but misinformation could stir up the folk stories that have been passed down for generations

The way you narrates the story is so soothing and relaxing and i will definitely love to hear more folk story from you. Coming to the main point is that , the side of the story i heard frm my nagaland teacher - Pulie never returned back home and when the villagers went to search for him in the jungle and shout his name pulie, pulie will always answer to their calling so yeah different kind of story and it really gives ne questions mark to which side of the stroy is true. Anyways just thought of sharing the side of the story i heard sinced most people tend to not now about it much 🥰

We call this creature Sangkni in Garo culture. It's a huge dragon like snake having rooster comb on their head. And to this day they're still known to exist under the river or somewhere inside the hills and are widely known to cause landslide. Sometimes we refer them as the owner of the river or the owner of the particular place. Some people believe they are some kind of god like spirit and some believe they are just mortal creatures. Alot of villagers also reported seeing these creatures while going out to cut woods and so on every twice or once a year. But the moment they're out of their cave or river, they're likely known to get struck by lightning and people say they have some kind of diamond or rock inside their head. We sculpt their statues in nokpante and so on, y'all can also see during Hornbill festival. They are no different from dragon.
