there are LOTS of great teachers like him in the US that care about their job, and the impact on their kids future. the problem is that we/US invest LOT more in the military instead of the education system, and the future, which is our kids. couple that with the fact that teachers have a very negative public perception in this country and get blamed for everything... poor parenting... teachers fault your kid is lazy but you think he's bored or gifted... must be teachers fault... and so on.

He’s so great. And middle school is when kids need this kind of connection with adults and other kids, especially at school. That’s the age where kids start to get drawn in the wrong direction, they start to feel isolated, disenfranchised. Then it usually gets worse from there if they don’t have support and good examples of adults and other kids.
