My Favourite Beatles Album TBH. Nothing but Lennon-McCartney bangers while still in the midst of their early sound.

I love every tune, and I watch the film at least once a year. To my mind, it's *the* moment caught in 20th C amber which captures The Beatles at their best, when they were still fully working together, a true "band of brothers" like Ringo had dreamed of as a youth. George Harrison met his true love Pattie Boyd and "snapped her up", Paul and John were at the height of their face-to-face, rapid evolutionary style of composition. *FOUNDATIONAL. *

Nice job, thanks. Beatles For Sale, Help, and Rubber Soul, would be great for tis treatment. They seem to grow into each other and depict a special time and sound.

Yeah - undoubtedly the high point of The “Beatlemania” period. They really proved themselves here - they were not just some pop phenomenen appealing to a new generation lusting for an alternative form of identity. The album proves it - it’s top quality all the way trough! Later they got in artistically terms even more advanced which is maybe even more impressive. Laziness never got The Beatles...

It's a straight guitar album, no technical wizardry here. If your just picking up the guitar I highly advise this album as a teacher. The chords alone are enough to keep you busy!

Great job on illustrating this album. I’ve only got one thing to correct, the Beatles are not a pop band , they are a rock band. Other than that, you did your homework and it shows. Kudos.

The finest album of 1964, followed by Another side and Stones debut. The Stones, Animals, Kinks and Yardbirds were creating new, original and exciting type of rock music in 64 but they were 90% covers and despite of that had it's share of fillers. AHDS is however 100% original songs and feels very self assured and complete.

These 4 lads from Liverpool of all places really had a major cultural influence aside from producing great music that fit the times so perfectly for a decade. Success at this level doesn't happen by magic. Even if it seems it took magic for it all to fall together to make it happen. Talent is a thing regardless of how rare or whom which others it took to get it out there.

The EMI album is light-years ahead of the United Artist version that was released in the U.S. in every way except one. The version of And I Love Her on the United Artist record is much cleaner and I prefer it over the UK version with the reverb and double tracking. I'll Cry Instead has always been a favorite of mine. You could say it is a little bit country but for me it has more of a Sun Record rockabilly feel to it. I read somewhere that it was going to be used in the scene in the movie where they are playing around in the open field but Richard Lester overruled whoever made that call and put Can't But Me Love in there instead. Then, years later, it was shown at an anniversary or some such event and the guy who originally wanted it slipped it back in. He was quite proud of himself and tried to pull a "see I told you so" on Richard Lester but when they polled some people who were there that night they all said they couldn't figure out why the change was made and nobody liked it. Anyway, it's a fine album. If I Fell is one of my top-five Lennon compositions and the harmonies are John and Paul at their Phil and Don best. And the movie still holds up. I watched it about a year ago and I thought, this is pretty good. Don't know if I would have the same reaction to Help. Their movies went downhill from this one. You got the feeling with this one they genuinely enjoyed making it. The rest, not so much.

Girls fainting and screaming and peeing themselves... few had it. Elvis and the Beatles are one. Sinatra in earlier times. So was David Cassidy in later times and a few other heartthrobs but realize out of all of them the Beatles were the only ones that mostly wrote their own material.

Any band with this kind of success did not get there by padding albums with fillers. With 100's of hit songs they didn't need fillers.

the movie did not mean they could make the album,the song hard days night, was made by request for the movie,as the other song were already made,,not the other way around,why is it always about usa,,also they were famous in europe already,,usa meant the world,but only as it caught up,not made it,,you try and make it all about john,but pual wrote in sall the songs, and put it this way, the singing sound was always down to paul "john sung low" you said,,thats since he could only sing low,,he did not have any desent range,, its pauls high stuff that makes all the harmonies good..

I can't believe that there are mugs out there who still believe the nonsense about the Beatles! LOL! Do people really think a pair of 21- or 22-year-olds can write songs (and instant classics/standards) such as And I love her, Here, there, and everywhere, Michelle, Yesterday, Norwegian wood, In my life, Girl, Eleanor Rigby, For no one, etc. Really....?!?!?!! Anyway, there is no way songs such as Yesterday and For no one - let alone Eleanor Rigby - were written by two guys (of any age) strumming on guitars! Wake up! Lennon and McCartney could not even read music, let alone score musical notation! These songs would have to have been composed on the piano. Even a tune such as You've got to hide your love away would have to have been composed on the piano and/or violin, as rapidly becomes apparent when an orchestra plays the song. Wake up!!!!!

There’s a lot of funny stuff going on with the Beatles, but that’s them mate. 100% I did my research and find it not true. Paul and Ringo still play the same way today and John’s guitar playing is unmistakable in his rhythm.
@itinerantpatriot11963 ай бұрын
So some song writer, or writers, are going to write all those hits and then just say, yeah, that's fine, you take all the credit and all the royalty cash, it'll just be our little secret because after all you are the Beatles. Dude, I have heard some wild tales about the Beatles, but yours is...🤔well, just odd. Tell me, did we land on the Moon, was 9/11 an inside job, and how many shooters were in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963? Nothing personal, just trying to gauge where you are at on the spectrum.

Well, in the basement of the Ashers house, Paul and John did utilize the piano! It is now in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. And as far as orchestration, George Martin knew what to do!

I think John phoned in a few of the songs on this album, and that really drags it down for me. I think it's in their bottom 3 or 4, personally. They sound like they're mostly just riding out what had worked for them at this point, with a few exceptions.

Lennon and McCartney did NOT write *any* of the songs on this album (they had ghost writers) and they did not play on any of the instrument tracks (they used top-notch session musicians). All they did was record vocals.
