The lords can't be defeated, so the Titankeepers locked them in the elemental plane. The only way to truly defeat an elemental lord is by beating them in their respective elemental plane. Why didn't the Titankeepers send them to the elemental realm, follow the elemental lords and kill them?

The reason they couldn't just kill them is because they *ARE* Wind, Fire, Water, and Earth. To kill them meant to put Azeroth into more chaos than it was under the Old Gods, hence they imprisoned them instead. They could kill them, but they didn't for very good reasons.

Because when they die, their power still remains. A new Elemental Lord would rise eventually and the Titankeepers would have gained nothing by killing them. The point of Elemental Planes was that you can keep the elements out of the way without killing them.
