May Allah reward you for your work! Keep telling stories of Ahlul But until the truth reaches everyone! It's so tragic that until this day people have no idea about Imam Hussein (a.s). I feel so sad for people who don't know the truth about Ashura and celebrate it as a happy event or mock the followers of Ahlul Byt. If you can't stand with a person (Imam Hussein a.s.) who treated orphans with love and used reasoning to convince his enemies, then you need to rethink what is the point of religion if we aren't bettering ourselves? It's not political, it is the point of religion, to be kind to each other and love each other while praying to One God. Religion is easy not difficult.

He [asws] went originally to Kufa as people of Kufa invited him [asws] to come, promising to support him [asws]. After almost reaching Kufa things changed to 180 degrees. Kufians betrayed him [asws]. Do more research to draw the whole picture of the event.

Essentially he received letters from the Kufans saying that they are pledging allegiance to Hussain SA. No less than 18,000 Kufans pledged their allegiance. So on his way to Kufa he was stopped by Hurr ibn Yazid al Riyahi who had around a 1000 soldiers and told Hussain SA that he cant enter Kufa and neither can go back to Madina, so he Hussain SA to find another way. Hussain SA asked one of his companions to find a way through and eventually they landed in Karbala
