This is my tribute to Castiel. To me, he is a true hero and one of the most significant fictional characters ever. He saved the world and rescued the boys so many times.
I'm so amazed by the fact that he's been in 100 episodes now since he was originally supposed to appear just in a few episodes. It's incredible to experience his journey with its ups and downs.
But it is Misha Collins who makes this character so unique. He brings Cas to life. He's such a great actor and a cute dorky human being. I respect him so much for GISHWHES, speaking up against Trump and many other things.
I just can't wait to see what comes next for this beautiful lovable angel! (I'm refering to both Cas and Misha, just to be clear.)

I really wish they would do a spin off delving more into his pre Winchester centuries or one with Jack and him going on crazy adventures if the Winchesters end up dead this season.

I really want that to happen, I want a spin off with cas and jack or a pre season 4 cas before he met the Winchesters or something like that, the problem is I don't know how to make villains strong enough to pose a threat to an angel and an archangel and have it be believable, and that was the problem with cas in this show, but if they can find a way around that I'll definitely be down for that.

I think by the end of the show, every supernatural creature should be dead, demons trapped in hell, angels trapped in heaven, and Castiel wanders the earth, helping people and then he finds two children, and realises their name is Winchester and he brings them up as his own and tells them stories of their fathers. Castiel should be the one who lives on.

Cas was the soul of the show. He made it more than two bros fighting a monster of the week and Dean and Sam's characters grew because of Cas. He also had more growth than any other character. Too bad Dobbs/Singer didn't like the characters as much as other writers.

*Long post, I apologize! I am also ways so cautious to post my comments on Supernatural videos, not because my comments are bad; but I always get mean responses back. So let me tell you first I am commenting because for the first time in a long time I feel like someone finally captured the journey of Castiel and I wanted to say thank you. I am about to graduate from college and want to be a video editor; you did an amazing job of telling Castiel's journey so far( half to add that in,lol) with out any manipulation of clips. 'Standing ovation' I have been a fan of Castiel since he walked through those barn doors 8 years ago. A lot of fans believe Castiel being a part of this show is pointless and that story lines are being created just to keep him around, but that isn't it at all. I am taking this dialogue from S11 ep1 between Dean and Sam: SAM: Saving people means all of the people, Dean. Not just that baby. Not just each other. I unleashed a force on this world that could destroy it . . . to save you. DEAN: And I told you not to. SAM: And I'd do it again. In a second, I would do it again. And that is what I'm talking about. This isn't on you. It is on us. We have to change. This right here separates what Castiel has done with what Sam and Dean have done. Sam and Dean would destroy the world for each other and almost have a few times. But they sorta fix it. I love that they would go to the ends of the earth for each other don't get me wrong. But here is why Castiel is still so important to the story. Castiel went against his entire family because Dean showed him the truth; he showed him he had a choice; free will. He defied Heaven even more by stopping the apocalypse. He became God because he wanted to fix the problems on Earth and when he realized his wrong he asked for help. He took on Sam's pain because he knew he could handle it and felt like he deserved it. He saved Dean in purgatory and then at the mention of him,Dean, and Sam being family it broke Naomi's spell. He tired to hide the tablet to protect the world. And he could have given up after Metatron took his grace, but he didn't. He kept going and fighting for others. Basically this is what I am saying; Castiel is a metaphor for the battles we fight everyday and the ones we want to. We see horrible things everyday and most often don't have the power to stop them. And when we try to change the world it never goes as planned and the only people standing at the finish line of our struggles is our family that was there with us through it all; even if they are not blood. Ok I am done, I just had to say that while watching this. This is what came to mind. Keep up the amazing work!

Cas is a important part of the show and shouldn't be left out the group. I think he should have been in every episode since he became part of the family.

I loved the video all around, it's beautiful ground-up. I'm still not a fan of this last episode, I feel like in the interest of heavy-handing his personal struggle and conflict they just deconstructed every lesson Castiel has learned, every promise he's made to Dean. He's lather-rinse-repeating the same mistakes all over again. The new writing and production cast are struggling way too hard with this and it's just... going through the motions already done with new labels on the same old threats in the end.

i don't necessarly agree on everything (cas had his wins too, cas is essential and not just an engine, and humans aren't perfect either, they make mistakes too) oh i think a 7 years old kid could come up with better than spn ever since s9+ and about cas, i feel like it's all done in purpose, s6 "cas is a villain and wrong" was on purpose to kill off cas, they made him do things that were beyond ooc like killing balthazar, i couldn't take any of that seriously cause it didn't make sense, like the new writers team felt like cas was a burden, that misha took too much attention and spotlight so they tried to ruin all the hard work kripke and edlund put in him to lessen him, he's just the angel who messes up, he's just the dumb angel who gets manipulated, he can barely fight anymore, the winchesters are THE REAL heroes.... like last ep it made no sense for cas to just leave when dean has been acting like he desperately needed him to, he treated him like an equal and that is beyond rare with a bad 9 seasons track record in the matter, i can see the writing process like "team free will is the thing that makes sense but we need to isolate cas and make him do something stupid so we'll go against logic and ruin cas further until no one likes him and we'll be free to kill him off" it's really tiring i sometimes just reconsider watching and just focus on editing my favorite in character cas moments instead

I was ironically editing the forum post, I added stuff on at the end about canonical issues going on. Cas has had some wins, yes, but he's never been the RESOLUTION. And I'm okay with that. And that's what the authors are overcompensating for. Because they feel like he takes too much glory in being such strong support, but the win goes to the Winchesters, pun intended. And it should, because that's the premise of the show. But even Castiel's support is a shining value that can be claimed by the Winchesters, as it was his relationship with Dean that drives him to even do what he does - the HUMAN element. That said, I agree. But just like with season 6 when Sera took over development and they tried to remove Cas, they're going to realize this is a horrible idea. Whether or not they realize it too late is the question. The show is far enough along and struggling to reach an ending and if they ride this train too long, they're going to make it die with a whimper. You could see Jensen and Misha both highly disagreed with this in their acting, they just didn't give a shit anymore. They knew how wrong this was. They're just faces quoting lines at this point. This is what happens when Jeremy Carver leaves the show on a production level. People had their differences of opinion but he was the last piece of the Carver Edlund team that was still in effect and binding things together. Now it's even more out of control than it was when Sera Gamble took over because none of the "godhand" is present anymore. It's entirely different production at this point. It shows. This is literally just bad fanfiction.

i agree here, but not all the credit goes to the bros too, which also irritates me when the show tries to erase cas" role, the winchesters wouldn't have been alive without him, he saved them more times than i can count, ignoring that, without cas they couldn't have won against lucifer, cas was the resolution and the one who saved the world from raphael restarting the apocalypse, without cas no angel would have provided the blood, and cas held dick roman, distracted him and helped dean kill him, he repeatedly healed them, he's vital and important regardless, the winchesters couldn't have acheived so much without him by their side like i'm fine with cas just helping but he didn't just do that, and i think ever since he came in the bros aren't the only ones to help that's the thing also, how much all cas' actions and motivation is reduced to "for dean" he always cared about humanity, always fought for it which lead naomi to repeatedly brainwash him over and over but he always rebelled, we just didn't see all that in detail, but it happened, cas' fight in s6 was for the whole humanity not just sam and dean, they are the main characters, what made us watch, but they aren't the center of the universe and shouldn't be, that's boring and tiring (like elena on tvd) especially jensen, like he doens't even hide how much he dislikes some things (it's so funny) and sometimes misha's acting completely delivers the bitterness cas should feel but is never allowed to express, oh i agree, it's a mess they don't know their characters anymore, some ruined dean for me sometimes with how much they feared people would enjoy the destiel scenes they made him act like the most selfish ungrateful d bag to exist, constantly mocking cas, yelling at him, rarely helping him ect .... like this isn't the s3 dean i fell in love with all these years ago WTF? dean would never accept leaving a friend to starve and freeze to death no matter what, cas only messes up, never stands up for himself, it's in contradiction to his s5-4 personality and it's ?????? sam ironically changed for the better, more caring ect but he was put to the background sometimes, like dean is the one who does, who shines sam is his brother in his shadow something like that (what the writers did not how i feel, i love sam) seriously kripke and edlund were spn's best, you can feel the difference, they didn't care about what fandom would think, they just wrote their characters, sometimes threw some funny lines here and there for the fandom but they didn't sabotage a character just because he was inconviniently too awesome ???? the second ben left cas' character was in an increasing deterioration, i love him, i always will because this change isn't organic so i can't hold it against him, i know who the real cas is, and that he deserves so much better than this mess
