To not only have these adventures, and be a world class champion, but to have your wife so closely involved in them, and then both be able to tell them so wonderfully, with a lot of silent understanding between you both, it's magical... movie or Netflix material right there.

Chris makes cycling deeply engaging. I was training to break 2:30 in the marathon when I injured my him. I took up cycling and found my true love in sports -- cycling. I began riding with a local team every Sunday and would get dropped 30 miles from home along with the other Freds. In a year I could keep up with the best and it was so satisfying. By using my head I could keep up with the younger guys. I want to get on my bike. Age 80.

Spouses and Significant Others are the unsung heroes of the sport. My wife has been my biggest supporter and fan since I started racing back in the '80's. She's fixed my post crash road rash, listened to my whining about race woes, etc etc etc. My wife and I loved watching this show and thank you both very much for what you give back. I'm still racing at 68 and my wife still attends nearly every race. I look forward to every episode you post of all your shows.

Chris, you and Megan are terrific together. I wish this video had been twice as long! Please do more like this, and whatever you do, don't forget to write a book, or multiple books, of your life and stories of bicycle road racing. I can't wait till you do!

I wasn't going to watch this when I saw how long it was. But I was sitting on the Chesterfield drinking coffee by the fire, thinking "what else have I got to do"? Boy I'm glad I did watch, because I watched the Vuelta that year and remembered your unlikely but fantastic victory. Hearing all the nitty gritty about your knee operation and recovery, especially with Megans contributions and support during the race made it very entertaining. I watch all your shows on KZbin and now understand your reaction to the Jumbo Visma fiasco during this year's Vuelta. It's nice to see the underdog win and be vindicated when the naysayers are harping on.....

I'm proud to be a member of the Horner Cycling Foundation. What a great piece on the Vaulta. Thank you for sharing a great story. I always love Horner Story Hour. It's funny how I've watched Chris for 3 years now and followed his pro racing career . My brothers kids go to Chris's riding camps, and my brother's wife company participates in their races. I didn't know this until I donated a really nice road bike to the foundation and my brother took it down to the Foundations office and gave it to Molly and they started talking. It's a small world.

Just amazing! Greetings from Spain, Chris! As a Spaniard and a long-time enthusiast of cycling, I have especially enjoyed this video. It made me remember that Vuelta of 2013 and how I celebrated watching you climb Angliru upwards to glory. I follow your YT channel and I love every one of your videos but, man, this one really made me laugh a lot and even brought me some tears. That says so much about two things: the huge dimension of your historical achievement, and the intensity that you and your wife put into recreating that adventure. By the way, my name is Josan and I live just about 50k from Denia

One other thing, Chris is that Madone had two different fits: H1 and H2 with former being more "racy". So instead of Domane, they could've just given you an H2 fit which was more on a relaxed side of things. I still have that generation Madone by the way with over 150k kms on it (I kid you not). Great bike but because of the build issues, it chews through bottom bracket bearings like there is no tomorrow. In fact Enduro had to issue +0.1 size, so they'd fit into the ever-expanding BB hole. :D

@@ChrisHornerCycling so, after watching this, I rewatched the Angliru stage... impressive as ever, but what cracked me up was your interview after the finish, where you said (roughly), "everybody sitting on the couch at home, I hope you enjoyed every pedal stroke."
