BBC One Show interviews Gerry Marsden of Gerry & The Pacemakers fame on birth of the song. Gerry Marsden was born Sep 1942 After a heart operation in 2016 announced retirement in Nov 2018. He died 3 Jan 2021 in Merseyside.
