Hi. I am so greatful for this. Thanks goes to Gentlemens Gazette and Jeremy. Hackett is my favourite. It is the only brand that fits me without any tailoring. Greetings, Dominik Mauer.

Hackett has such a natural, effortless, off-the cuff manner. He is a delightful raconteur, with a droll sense of humor. Raphael is like a kid in a candy store. Charming.

A lot of fashion channels touring London but no one can do it like Gentleman's Gazette. Raphael and company are just excellent interviewers, always warm and excited, considerate of letting the interviewee speak as well as lead the conversation. I'm looking forward to more from this series.

When Hackett was just a second-hand shop on the New King’s Road in the 1980s, I bought my first dinner jacket, trilby hat, leather suitcase and covert coat. I still have all of them. Thank you, Jeremy.

What a great episode! Thank you for sharing this privacy of Mr. Hackett. I’ve so many clothes and Aston Martin umbrellas from Hackett. It’s a shame that under Laurence Stroll, the collaboration of Hackett and Aston Martin doesn’t go on 😢

My own view is that Hackett’s Hackett was very good. The current Hackett is owned by venture capitalists. In my experience, that means short term profit over quality and the almost inevitable degradation of quality.
@joshmiller7777Күн бұрын
For sure I would recommend the JP Hackett line more, but honestly I think the quality is not bad. Not the best you can get for the price, but the cut is still really nice

Hi GG, Is this the Hackett London clothing brand? Or totally different?
@gentlemansgazette22 сағат бұрын
It is, but they have a store on Savile Row now, which is called J.P. Hackett and it carries a totally different assortment of RTW products, and they offer RTW and true bespoke clothing there too.

Raphael, a tip from me is to tone down the hairstyle. Otherwise, brilliant interview 😊
@bullishonsol2 күн бұрын

@gentlemansgazetteКүн бұрын
J.P. Hackett carries different stuff than regular Hackett Stores. They focus on bespoke and higher end MTM and RTW. Their bespoke offering was nice, but I don‘t want to travel to London for fitting three times, so no.

It's nice to see proper gentleman talking about his hard way to sucess. However, the guy on the other side is quite highly affected and perhaps slightly overdressed for this ocassion.

Sad what Hackett has become, a pale shadow of its former self. As soon as private equity takes over, quality nosedives.

You are correct, but it is good quality in his bracket, and you can find good deals in Outlets. I found good deals in La Roca Shopping Center Barcelona and Bicester Village Shopping Center UK. It is also true that there has been less and less quality over the years. Nowadays, it is not my way to go; instead, I buy from Gieves & Hawkes. If you want everyday wear, Charles Tyrwhitt is not the best, but it holds well. I stopped buying shirts from Hackett due to the quality issues.
@gentlemansgazette2 күн бұрын
Similar to how Ralph Lauren has several ranges available at different price/quality points, Hackett also has different quality levels depending on which range you're looking at. The J P Hackett range available from Savile Row is superior to the Hackett London range that is more widely available. Of course, this comes with a price difference, too
