@@TheLostRiverDriveInfor a script to be written over a dozen times is really nothing. It's actually fairly low for Hollywood standards. Fatal Attraction was rewritten over 80 times. My Uncle has been in the business since the 70s. He tells me all these little fun facts all the time. He's also adamantly told me to stay clear of the business when I wanted to get into acting. He would tell me how hard it was to be successful as an actor and so on. There was one specific time he was rambling on about it and then he started talking about his neighbor being an actor and how he's always out of work and said how annoying he was..... as he was saying this he was whispering because his neighbor was outside doing some gardening or something like that. So I looked over to see his neighbor and I started laughing because I recognized him right away and it was Crispin Glover. This was right before his comeback and to be far my Uncle's view of success is way up there with like the A lister making 20 million per movie.

I have really never understood the controversy about Halloween 5. It's the one sequel that is the most what I want in a sequel...very true to the original premise, yet completely its' own unique chapter, as well. All the emphasis that is placed on stalking sets this one apart...especially the barn sequence, which I regard as the finest stalking scene in the history of slasher movies. As well as the aesthetics, with a phenomenal score, beautiful lighting and cinematography....and really great performances by Pleasance and Harris...I regard it as a masterpiece....

While 5 may not be the most popular entry in the series, it has been my experience that, first, those like myself who DO like it....tend to like it A LOT...and SECOND, many of its' most vocal critics...have either never seen it, or only watched about the first 20 minutes, when it first came out, and haven't seen it since...It is AMAZING how much of the 'criticism' that is directed towards this film is actually inspired by decisions made by Halloween 6...I don't know how many lectures I've heard from people who tell me 5 sucks because of the cult...and the cult is NOWHERE in 5....ONLY two brief glimpses of the Thorn...If the series had ended with 5, the Thorn was never anything more than the symbol of a constellation. And the Man in Black is only in the film for about 2 collective minutes, and plays no substantial part until the ending, where I found his intrusion to be an interesting variation on the standard Halloween movie ending.

Considering it was only a couple years removed from Jason being randomly revived via lightening, doin Michael the same way woulda been duuuuuumb. These filmmakers realize that, like, lightening by itself wouldn’t do shit, right? If anything it would kill these villains even more. Frankenstein was different because he was hooked up to devices and conductors and all other things went into play with bringing The Monster to life. Just zapping Jason or Michael to life via Mother Nature only seems beyond idiotic😂
@TheLostRiverDriveIn9 ай бұрын
Oh I agree lol. Very glad they didn’t go this route in 1989 lol
@millyoneyedeaz13506 ай бұрын
Cool version, but im glad they didnt go with this. Its not the original Halloween 5 though, Dwight Little came up with the original. Michael was living underground, Jamie & Rachel as well as the townspeople had become militant and alot of it resembles the arc from Kills and ends, and it also shows that Halloween 4 set up the townspeople vs Michael plot when we see the group at the bar defy the sheriff with their shotguns. difference being Ted Hollister was killed instead of Tovoli
@jasoncase94819 ай бұрын
I think Halloween 5 would have had Jamie as the new shape if it had the same screenwriter as Halloween 4 because it seems unbelievable that McElroy would go with a Halloween 5 movie that makes the change in the Halloween 4 movie entirely pointless.
@tgriffin30599 ай бұрын
I think the approach they took worked quite well. Of course, I'm prejudiced, since I love the movie. But with this angle, the audience still gets Michael as the killer, who is FAR more intimidating than any child could ever be...but it also intensifies the aura of mystery and tragedy that surrounds Jamie. I think we get the best of both worlds...we keep Michael, but Jamie is even MORE of a fascinating figure. With her raven hair, her beauty, but those sad eyes....she's kind of like a Poe heroine...a bit macabre, but sympathetic, at the same time.

halloween 5 is a big frustration for me after 4 you have a solid base to build from fair enough the slasher genre was dying at this stage freddy and jason had long gone past there best and 80s slasher craze was done until scream revived the genre , the movie was rushed and it really hurt it halloween is not a good movie but its not a freddys dead either its a very flawed but fun enough sequel with a lot of good things i watch every year . like the rest of the series accept resurrection screw that movie

I know studios are in the business of making money but in doing so they gave us a flat, uninspired, messy entry. I don’t believe I would have liked the other approach either. 5 was rushed and you can clearly see that with the “finished” product. Plus Tina is my least favorite character in the entire franchise. Enjoyed the video!!

I think a very good case can be made that it's the strongest of the sequels, or perhaps in a tie for strongest with Halloween 2...Of course, you have every right to like or dislike whatever you want-I don't argue with people about their tastes or preferences-but this movie is VINTAGE Haddonfield. Halloween 5 is ALL about stalking....just as the original was back in '78..And this trait showcases the ultimate in patience on the part of the filmmakers...that's precisely why most don't bother with it...Halloween 5 represents the absolute pinnacle of this style of filmmaking.
