Thannx for going into a little background of the who, what, how, why, wherefore, Chad. Happy for you and will continue to follow your saga. The initial draw for me was really the OLD English sheepdog, and cats. I'm sure you know that Canada, and Ontario breeds some of the finest OES in the world. Love your handi aptitude and problem solving on the fly. Get as much done as you can before the farm enters its polar tundra phase season :)
@HiddenSpringFarm3 жыл бұрын
I wonder if if could be one of those fine breeders? Wonder what it would take to get a couple OES for breeding. I’m sure you’ll enjoy some of the fall colours here then the polar vortex comes in 😝

You might want to build a tiny hose for another rental. They are gaining popularity in the states. Since you have the capability to build it yourself the cost would be way less.
@HiddenSpringFarm3 жыл бұрын
Yup that’s the longer term plan, tiny house, cabin in the woods, sugar shack and maybe a tree house. We’ll see, wishful thinking maybe. Great minds do think alike though.

Chad, I don't know what you did for work in the City, but you are a great carpenter. I can't wait to see your chicken coop finished. I so enjoy your videos. May I ask, what are you and your Darling living in if you are renting out the old farmhouse. Also, are you leasing the field to your neighbors for the horses. I doubt you have much time to watch other Channels, but one I suggest for your garden ideas, is called The Veggie Boys.
@HiddenSpringFarm3 жыл бұрын
Thank u Lee I just love building things as a hobby. I learned from books and HGTV, cause my mom and dad weren’t handy at all. I have another episode of the chicken house build on Friday. Roughly 5 years ago we sold our home in Toronto and. Over to a small hamlet called Midhurst. This was just a stepping stone until we found the perfect property. And I think we found it here AND it’s only 20mins away from our house. By the time we’re ready to build and move here the farm will be so much further ahead with all the infrastructure and animals. Never checked out Veggie Boys but I will.

If your renting out the farmhouse, are you still living in the city?
@HiddenSpringFarm3 жыл бұрын
we moved out of Toronto 5 years ago and bought a house out of the city in Midhurst. Then we bought the farm property only 20 mins away and decided to rent it out while we were saving for our house build to eventually move to the farm. Hopefully it won't take us too long, but not really a big deal it's only 20 mins away. We're loving the farm though and can't wait until we can make that happen.

Ever thought of keeping some of YOUR own horses up there, or having a horse boarding facility? You could make some money from boarders or even trail riders though there would be liabilities, i'm sure...
@HiddenSpringFarm3 жыл бұрын
Maybe but it would most likely be later in our setup. I was thinking of a huge Clydesdale pulling my sleigh collecting sap for syrup. Horses r super expensive to get and keep though. Gotta start small.
@Michael-gu8ck3 жыл бұрын
@@HiddenSpringFarm So true, horses as i know from living on a horse farm combo are very expensive and labor intensive/farriers, vets, etc.
