Never checking Bible facts, you miss the secrets of God Almighty. Let's begin. Jehovah was created in 950 BCE. He was the first monotheist god. Jesus Christ thought the early Bible was true, but Jesus Christ was a vermin encrusted hobo, who hustled pilgrims in Jerusalem. His mommy convinced her younger son Brian to impersonate Jesus three days after he died.

Life may seem or be unfair, but God is with you! Always remember that. Things may get better or worse for you, but a kingdom awaits you! Finish the race! Repent daily and carry your cross. One brother in Christ commented that it was a miracle Jonah had oxygen for 3 days and 3 nights. Infact he clearly states he died. Here is my reply. If you read scripture carefully in Jonah, Jonah said "out of the belly of Sheol i cried" Sheol is a Hebrew word for where all the dead go, righteous and unrighteous . He also says "i have been cast out if your sight" inferring he was in a place where God is not...Hell is a place where there us no God. He also says "the earth with all its bars closed behind me forever". This term 'bars is used to say in Hell there are Bars of cells, along with Sheol is used to describe the realm of the dead (job 33:24, ps 30:9, 49:9) He goes on to say "yet You have bought up my life from the pit" again pit is used in scripture as Hell. This scripture describes that Jonah died from drowning and went to Sheol (New Testament uses the term Pit and Hell), so God resurrected his Spirit, bought him back ti life from Hell which is when the Great Fish spewed him out. So no oxygen for 3 days and nights. I hope this helps your growth in understanding scripture. I suggest to many to go bible study or bible college where you learn to go deeper into scripture to exegesis scripture and get more revelation of it. Blessings in Christ.

I like the breakdown to understand what Jonah had seen, which resulted in how he thought about what was asked of him... The factors that brought him to the determining conclusion/choices he'd made were valid & understandable. THE ALMIGHTY FATHER DID understand his thought process, cause it was based upon the VERY words of the ALMIGHTY FATHER, but HE also wanted Jonah to see that HE gave MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES/TIME to get it together before HE pronounced HIS JUDGMENT upon people/places. It serves as a reminder that HE is patient with us as well before we get punished... and that its indisputably deserved. THANK YOU for this wonderful post.. be BLESSED

Jonah 2:5 NIV Interestingly enough, there is a deep water giant kelp that stays afloat with large air bladders. God is so good. I thought is was weird to add the detail about the "seaweed " wrapped around his head. It is truly a miracle that God provided 3 days of air in that fish. Let me know what you think. God bless you!

The whole idea of a fish/whale is crazy as technically the acid in the fish/whale would kill you and you couldn’t breathe etc etc. I did research on this. One guy made it out of a whales mouth after 46 seconds. There’s even a “how to survive being swallowed by a whale” video. Another guy also survived but not as long as Jonah did. It’s one of the craziest stories but God can do anything like later God sends a worm to destroy a whole tree. What kind of worm can destroy a whole tree? Only a worm created by God.

So I truly believe that Jonah was just plain scared to preach gods word to Nineveh. For those who want a really good idea what he must have felt like. Let's say imagine being told to go to las Vegas and preach what god told you to preach. Yeah even for a believer I bet that some kind of fear would still be present and for Jonah it was alot of fear.

Hi I wrote Jonah's poem for you: a Man was sent by God's Spirit. To pay Nineveh a visit. He had to warn them about their sins which God condemns. Nut Jonah got scared. So off he fared. In a ship far away, instead of God to obey. When a big storm struck. The sailors knew who brought bad luck. They threw him into the ocean. That sent a whale into motion. One bite, and Jonah got himself a room for the night. For three days he learned to pray and to preach. When finally the fish spat him out on the beach. Now Jonah had repent. So off to Nineveh he went. He warned them about their wicked ways. And God saved a city within 40 days. Alexander van Wyk from South Africa.

That's not so unusual for God's people to ask for the life of their enemies before Christ. The Lord commented that Solomon did not ask for the life of his enemies as if it was a common request to him from man. So that was Jonah's problem I suppose. Even Ananias thought the Lord should be weary of Saul of Tarsus as if he was past being converted.

The hebrew word which is written in the book of jonah 1:17 is "דג גדול"(Dag gadol) which means "a huge fish". here the gender of the fish is masculine[Strong's Hebrew 1709 דג]. but in Jonah 2:1, it is written הדגה(hadagah). here the gender of the fish is feminine [Strong's Hebrew 1710 דָּגָה]. does that mean that Jonah was swalloed by a male fish but he prayed inside from a female one? Answer: The root of dag is dagah which primerly mean "To cover with darkness", not only in hebrew but in Arabic and in greek this word denotes the idea of covering of darkness or intense darkness. [Gesenius Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon of Old Testament page 189]. Hence the translation should be "And jonah was in the deepth of deep covering darkness three days and three nights" Jonah 1:17 "Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of deep covering darkness" jonah 2:1 As it is written in the quran "AND remember him of the great fish, when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him, But then he cried out in the deep darkness (of his distress):"There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory Verily, I have done wrong" [Quran 21:87].

When Jesus talks about his return in Luke 11:29-31, he references the sign of Jonah. I know that means a sh¥t ton of water/flooding/deluge. But it is also talking about Jonah himself, being the unwilling prophet. Jonah tried to say f-k them people, doing everything he could to not tell them. Even when he goes back, he says the least amount possible. In Luke 11:29-31, Jesus tells people it’s a wicked generation and they want a sign, but they’ll get none other than the sign of Jonah. You see, Jesus already came here trying to warn everybody that they were trapped in hell, the devil is out there pretending he is god & that they are all related and they were tricked into committing inc€st (just like Adam and Eve, who were genetic brother and sister thanks to the DNA inside that rib bone). But they hated what he said so they murdered him and covered up the truth…… Let those religious people tell it and they repeat Caiaphas’s lies saying Jesus roamed this planet for over 30 years, but only came here to die for their sins, not to tell them anything important and surely not to show them the only way out of hell. My point, is that people do not listen. Jesus already came here trying to warn them and they didn’t LISTEN and when he returns, there’s no point in trying to tell them what he has already told them because they hated it then and they hate it now. When he returns, he’s coming back to tell them exactly what they did and the consequences of their choices. Jesus is going to be just as willing as Jonah was because jesus already tried to tell them and look what they did. I see what jesus meant. Luke 11:31. SSDD.
It wasn't a whale. It was a fish prepared by god. Prepared means made in this case. What kind of whale can spit a man out on dry land. I believe Mathew called it a whale a thousand years later. I will have to read it again but I can say for sure it is a, " Prepared Fish" in Jonah. They knew the difference between a fish and whale. Fish do not nurse their young. It isn't a difficult observation to make. It was called a fish because it was. A very special fish for the occasion. The focus and point of the story isn't what he was swallowed by so later writers in the bible assume it was a whale and miss the miracle of the fish made special for Jonah. What do you suppose god did with his fish that can spit a man out on dry land?
