I think Oba, Oya and Oshun represents women in modern society on how they view their marriages. Oba represents a wife who harm herself to please her husband and we can see that in abusive relationship where women do not get out of toxic relationships or marriages, Oya represents a wife who harm others to please herself and her husband which we can see where women are overly sensitive and jealous to all her husband outside activities and attacking any women that they are suspicious of having an affair with their husband, an Oshun represents a wife who do not condone any types of harming whether to herself or others to please herself and her husband which we can see in women who know her worth and unconditionally loving to everyone and able to love herself and give love to others with or without any man on her side. It is just my two cents.

There is actually a big confusion with the 7 African Powers. They are not the Orisha. The 7 African Powers represents the commissions of the 7 “Tribes” of Africa in the diaspora as a result of the TransAtlantic Trade of Enslaved People. It’s actually an Espíritismo (Spritism) concept, rather than Orisha.

I relate to Oba so much. I gave up so much in my marriage because I wanted to keep peace in my family. I thought seeking my personal goals were selfish. Later my ex-husband left me for a woman 7 years younger than me who was accomplishing things I had let go of at the prompting of my ex husband. I cried listening to this story.

@queenmosessoul4 жыл бұрын
Asè I appreciate you telling this story of mama Oba Nana my favorite Orisha. Although my knowledge of this story is a different variation the energy is truth nonetheless. The children part is very different because the story I received she had children and they where the inheritance of Shango wealth. And Oya was very jealous of the children more than her being a wife. Because Oya children all died because she couldn’t raise children with her energy. Also, Oba was the daughter of a very wealthy man in the village and was chosen by Shango. Under the direction of his father to marry in order to have his kingdom as he is a king. I also personally experienced Oba crowning my spiritual husband his first Ifá divination. And it has been the witches the Iyami that has stop and blocked my marriage from progress. The Iyami doesn’t want you to get married or have children. Not Oba she blesses the marriage not only with children but with a family name Oba which demonstrates family wealth and Legacy. Another thing working with Oba energy will help you find yourself as a woman of higher spiritual consciousness. As any Orisha work is essentially developing positive character traits to be demonstrated in the market place. Which is the world. But Again I appreciate your sharing and I thank you and continue on sharing. May your ancestors continue to be well pleased with you. And I’m a new sub Aboye Asè

It takes me 45 minutes to get to work so I pulled this up before getting on the road this morning.... When I tell you I Cried...BayBEE Oh this story did something to me. I felt Oba Nani's pain. I geew up not thinking about being a mother and wife but ended up married 2mths after turning 18. I LOVED BEING MY EX HUSBANDS WIFE SOOOO MUCH. We didnt have much but once we started having kids he didnt want ne to work so I stayed home. Cooked cleaned all that. Only thing he had a hard Tim letting go being ober the finances so I just let him have that even though we were in some situatiins because of it. On down the line for whatever reason he was unfaithful more than once and I wanted to make it work but I just couldn't get over it and he liked having multiple women but he jnew that wasnt fair to me considering thats not something I wanted to be in. We finally separated and divorced. He got remarried. In still single 10yrs later. I want to love and be married again but that hurt 😢 Oba Nani my heart breaks all over again. I'm so sorry for what you (she) went through.
