People say Rick became like shane by season 5 but Rick was never anybody else but himself. Rick can be defined by two factors. His insane will to survive and his mercy. He had them both in an incredible balance and that balance is the core of Rick Grimes. Something that all the villains lacked including shane. Rick never became evil. Even when the obvious choice to survive was to kill, he always went the extra mile to look for other peaceful options. Even when he realises with Negan, that surviving comes at a heavy cost, he always seemed to understand that the pros of being alive far outweighed the cons. That's why his wrath is soo important and essential. It single handedly kept the group alive. He let himself get only as evil as it was absolutely necessary. He's one of best protagonists ever. And so underrated.

The reason why Rick Grimes has such an appeal, is because he speaks to something deep within us all, and that is, the ability to overcome adversity, and being able to still hold true to your core values. Rick might have become much more brutal and hardened as time went on, but at the same time, his core was protected. He never stopped believing in making the world better.

I first saw Andrew Lincoln in a Romantic Comedy named Love Actually,so when he started in the role as Deputy Rick Grimes,I wasn't sure what to expect. He became one of the most amazing characters on TV. He pulled us into the story of TWD,much as he pulled in the group of people he lead,but would never call himself their leader. Rick Grimes was a selfless leader,just as Andrew Lincoln has been a selfless actor,pulling together a group of actors,and creating ,in my eyes,the most amazing series that has ever been undertaken. This is one of the the better Rick Grimes tributes, including minor characters is CRUCIAL! Not alot of people show the importance of Shane, how he impacted Rick so deeply. Example: You can't have a full character transformation without including the satellite outpost! Most people don't, but it seems you care about almost every detail within Rick's story. Did a great job showing him transform from a empathetic caring police officer to a strong willed still caring leader. Showing how every character had an influence on Rick was probably the tipping point to show me that this might be the best Rick Grimes tribute video i've seen. My only advice is, keep the scene switching to a minimum, it's confusing how you switch from a further plot point back to the present in terms of your story telling, but well done!

Wow...that was so powerful! I really hope Andrew Lincoln has seen this. Its a true testament to his acting, and portrayal as Rick Grimes. He is one of a kind and I cant wait for Rick to retun to the Walking Dead story. I envision something like the rebellion against the Commonwealth that is starting in Season 11 and the one against the CRM that started in World Beyond coming together and it being led by Rick. And he becoming the leader of the new world. He being reunited with Michone, and Judith. Meeting RJ. And they create a world that is free from corruption, where everyone works together and forges a new path in a dark world. The Rick Grimes story would come full circle and it would make for one of the most epic stories ever told.

I like how in Season 5 and some of season 6, rick embodied the rage filled, brutal survivalist who would not hesitate to kill anyone to keep his group alive, showing his parallel with Shane and how Shane viewed the world, and then he was weaker and more broken during s7 and 8, but towards the end of s8 and during s9 he embodied the wisdom, compassion and leadership to focus on the future sort of like he learned from Herschel.

12 years later... I grew up on TWD and I felt as if I knew the characters personally. I cried for every joyous time, I cried for every devastating time. I celebrated as new life began, and suffered along with the rest of the crew as characters and actors had passed away. It somewhat feels as if in some way or form the original group of survivors Rick had bonded with was just another family to me. I would always remember staying up later on a Friday night to watch the show with my mom and dad. The show played a huge role in connecting to my family. We were fans and we watched together, it gave me loving memories of laughter, happiness, joy and a whole waterfall of emotions. Coming towards the end of Highschool and having to soon move out of state to go to college, this show had impacted my life in such a wonderful memories. I am forever in gratitude for every wonderful moment.

Season 3, when they found the prison, is when I knew we were in for something special. I watched since day 1, but season 2 with Sophia storyline had me nervous.
