At Archaeosoup Towers, we love books! In this series we review books (Old and New) from the world of Archaeology and Anthropology.
Today I am delighted to begin sharing some of my favourite ancient Welsh stories. These stories are not only old, but they are still cherished today and formed a crucial part of my childhood in North Wales!

It is such a comfort to listen to someone telling a tale. It evokes something primordial, something essential to our well being. No matter how old I get (I'm 63 now) I doubt I will ever tire of listening to someone relate a story. Thank you, so very much.

Have you read the most recent translation of the Taliesin literature? 'The Book of Taliesin: Poems of Warfare and Praise in an Enchanted Britain Hardcover', I can highly recommend it

Is there a coincidence that “working” or to work is “gwethio” and the name “ Gwithno” sound similar. Gwithno insists he does the job timely and The sluice guy does’t do his job well.
