@@Galimeer5 Maybe but just maybe if you choose the right dialogue and respect serana through the whole story line. You are the first person to give serana a new image of the world and its beauty. She always was isolated in Castle Volkihar and the only beauty she was witnessing was the garden from her mother. You basically made her dreams come true by going adventuring with her and see the true nature of the world. But since serana was hit strong by her family circumstances, she forgot her real attention to go adventuring..she forgot how it was to have fun, forgot many things about the environment and in that desperation she even remembered the day where she was raped by Molag Bal. But you saved her, went with her in a journey she always wished for even though you are a human or better - became a vampire for her sake too. Dude I don't like Harkons intentions to sacrifice serana just for his foolish plans, but even he witnessed that serana changed after meeting you and I'm pretty sure you are going to be her first love too (she just needs much time to actually forget the past and to go on)

She is not marriagable but there was one statement of her that suggests that something steamy happened to the dovahkiin and her. Also when you finish the dawnguard quest either she stay as a vampire or changed as a human, you can ask her for marriage but she won't accept it saying that they're already good the way they are now marriage is not possible. Most likely they're already in a relationship but due to her trauma for being raped by Molag in temple of Mara, she don't want to marry and recall everything on how she was molested by Molag.

We had to make mods to fill this game with any meaningful companions like Inigo. Someone said Skyrim is a shitty game with many tools so player makes this game good for themselves with mods. And I agree with that, this game is NOTHING without mods. Worst part is that the modding community is so isolated, so many mods ideas were stopped because someone already created it, stoped updating and didn't allow anyone to continue their work likę a little bitch. Compatibility between is also a problem because people don't want to make it and they think that people paly only their mod XD You don't see that many bullshit in Dragon Age, Minecraft or even Oblivion community. It's just that Skyrim both LE and SE modding is cancer and toxic, 0 cooperation hence why we can't make Skyrim the best modable game unless you do it all on your own and don't share anything on nexus c;

Also copy pasting this bc is interesting: (wall of text ahead) - Serana doesn't have any clue about an "Empire" to the south of Skyrim, so she predates Alessia (likely by a margin of a century or two). - She recognises Windhelm, which was around before she was. Windhelm is believed to be the oldest city in Skyrim, and dates back to the late Merethic. - She calls Windhelm the "City of Kings" (implying at least Ysgramor and Harald, possibly more). - She does not seem to have been a contemporary of Ysgramor (the migratory-fleet one, that is), though she's probably within a few centuries of him. - Based on this, assuming she wasn't born in Skyrim is... well, I won't call it a complete waste of time, but it would be very unlikely. - The last colony ship to come from Atmora was in 1E 68. - She expresses horror at the Falmer camp. While I can't remember her exact words, she does seem to postdate their transformation. - Harald destroyed the last stronghold of the Dragon Cult in 1E 140, and I can't recall her saying anything about living through the Dragon Wars or a particular dragon presence. - She doesn't seem aware that around about 1E 240, Skyrim conquered Morrowind and High Rock temporarily. Now, I'm going to place her birth and early life around 1E 150-200, becoming a vampire when she was still quite young. This is mostly because there isn't a set timeline for the Merethic era, but I'll note that she could easily be a fair bit older than that, depending on how far back into the Merethic Ysgramor's migration was. The oldest date in Mundus is ME 2500 (the construction of Ur-Tower and the end of the Dawn Era with the beginnings of linear time). However, Serana displays no knowledge of Atmora, so the people who came from there were probably at least a generation or two removed from her (alternately, she may have never had any contact with them). It's a very narrow timeframe, I admit. Since she was locked up long before Alessia's empire, I'll also guess that the latest possible (and mathematically easy) date for her imprisonment in Dimhollow Crypt is 1E 200-220. This is cutting things very close to Alessia's rebellion in 1E 243, so the date probably can't be pushed much beyond that. First Era: 2720 years (including 1008 missing years from the Dragon Break) dating from an assumed imprisonment in Dimhollow of 1E 200. Second Era: 897 years. Third Era: 433 years. Fourth Era: 200 years (Serana is awakened in 4E 201). So she has been stuck in that tomb for 4250 years. Discounting the Dragon Break, it drops to 3242 years. Regardless of which number you use, that is a LONG time.

Also, bards were and are a huge source of information at Kings courts, even though they always exaggerated. Isn't strange that Harkon's Kingdom isn't mentioned,they could have added ruins of Harkon's Kingdom and even some citiziens mention a legend of a "Red" Tyrant or some extra lore in games books. Serana's probably the NPC in Skyrim with a sad backstory but with the greatest development. It's not just her daddy issues. It tackes on how she longs for a normal family living their life to the fullest. But Harkon fears death so much, he turned to vampirism by offering his wife and daughter to Molag Bal for such a degrading ritual, which deep inside, even Serana claims it's an honor, she's actually torned up. Valerica wants to see him fail for the benefit of vampiric "balance". And the kid is smashed between two boulders. With the Dragonborn's aid, no matter which side they choose, lift up Serana's spirits and enjoyed life and freedom for the first time. This fulfillment of hers is more evident with Serana Dialogue Add-on mod. Vanilla-wise though, I'm glad she and Valerica reconcilled when she finally got the courage to tell her feelings of being left out because of her parents' obsession. Harkon, on thr other hand, is beyond repair. She'll be more happy, to the point of trancendence, when they're in Dawnguard side and she got cured. I just hope the same is possible with Valerica.

I have her as a follower and really like her. She is not like the other followers who just stand there. She walks around, sits down, I think it is funny when I am visiting the Jarls, she sits down at the big table and drinks and eats. Other times in taverns she will move with the music and I can almost see her singing along with the Bard and she will drink as she stands there listening. One time we were in a dungeon and there was a pile of wood, I stopped to go through my inventory and she starts chopping wood. She also will mine ore on her own. Another time she started stirring a pot over a fire, and she loves to stand and lean on Alchemy table and actually looks like she is making potions. Any time I am storing things or doing something that I have to take some time, she will go sit down and wait. What I don't like about Serana is since she is somewhat independent, she tends to wander off or walk in front of me when I am talking or doing something. The worst is when she walks in front of me or stands in front of me when I am swinging a sword or casting a spell and hit her. Another thing I noticed is you cannot give her orders. You can have her wait, trade items and split up and that is it.

The dialogue with the SDA mod during the House of Horrors quest is just heartbreaking. I know Valerica isn't as bad as Harkon per se but she was still a shit mother to allow Harkon to give her daughter over to Molag Bal to be raped. The dialogue of that mod during that quest made me despise her parents even more even though it's not canon because that's likely how it went. Ugh.

In a developer interview one of the devs said it was their intention to have her be sealed at the end of the second era between the reman and septim empires. If I had to speculate without that statement I would personally put her sealing way earlier. But the devs hath spoken I suppose

You said Serana was placed in Dim Hollow Crypt in the second era. Serana states that she had not heard of Cryodil being the seat of an Empire and the Empire was founded in the First Era. So either early first era or in the Merethic Era was when she entombed, pushing the entire timeline back for this video.

Her surprise about Cyrodiil being the seat of an Empire though presents a pair of possibilities: She was either sealed away before Saint Alessia established her Empire in Cyrodiil in 243 OR she didn't know about the Alessian Empire because of seclusion.

No...I can’t imagine housewife-ing her...would rather travel the world with her for all time...Demi-God Dragonborn and Vampire Princess. Both are pretty much immortal at this point. (Debatable with the DB but to be honest...there would be a war in Oblivion and the Heavens over his soul if he died...easier for him to just be immortal and not deal with it. Besides with access to Apocrypha and all its knowledge...yeah immortality is definitely his.

I always envisioned her as a dangerous lover, a soul mate that you can't have. We took on the world together, grew on each other, but there are reasons she can't be married to me. Like some wise men said: you have a soul mate and a life partner. Serana is our soul mate, Lydia (or any other wife) is our life partner. Much of her appeal comes from the fact that shes unavailable even tho you know that deep down she loves you. It's like in real life. I think bethesda did this on purpose, and it's very smart.

Love this, only issue isn't your fault. Bethesda seems to have mixed up their timelines, because if Serana was locked away at the end of the 2nd Era, she would have known about the Empire because by the 2nd Era, the 2nd Empire was stationed, the Reman Dynasty and empire ruled at that time, and the 1st Empire to which she most likely wasn't around to see founded was the Alessian Empire in the early 1st Era according to my math, Serana was locked away for around 4200 years give or take the odd century or decade

My personal theory is that what we are seeing is not the real story. I think that the story of the collapse of the Nordic Empire runs straight through Haarkon and Serena. I think that the logical story is that Serena was in fact sheltered as a child up to a point. She has some knowledge of the Kingdom of Skyrim, but they did not finish her story completely which is why we have the massive confusion about when she was locked away. Maybe she was living on that secluded island as the protected heir to the throne until she could be fully trained, but that Haarkon may actually have been one of the last of the High Kings of the Nordic Empire of Skyrim before it was defeated by the Dark Elves and Dwarves. Furthermore I think that Haarkon's actions set in motion the collapse of the empire. It was not simply the defeat and death of Borgas in the Wild Hunt, but Haarkon seeking a pact with Molag Bal and the probable mountain of deaths he needed to secure his pact for "immortality." I think this also accounts for some of the confusion as to dates of High Kings in that era as Haarkon may very well have been scrubbed from the records after he effectively fed his daughter and wife to Molag Bal after causing a wave of death and destruction to get what he wanted. Haarkon's actions in addition to eliminating Serena's claim on the throne also probably brought disgrace to all of his immediate relatives allowing a weak and foolish High King like Borgas, who was likely a member of one of the lesser lines of Ysgramor's blood, to come to the throne and put himself in danger in the first place. Thus leaving the Empire weak and due for a massive civil war as claimants of a suddenly empty throne and a completely disgraced blood line of the original High King was wiped from memory. We already know from the Archmage Gauldur questline that those that either disgraced themselves or destroyed their family reputation had a habit of being excised from history.

Interesting theory. That would indeed make sense as to why Harkon was completely whiped from history despite him claiming to had a "vast kingdom". One thing that adds to this is when you free Serana she will ask who the current high king of Skyrim is. Confirming that despite her isolation she knew about politics. This would make Harkon also a more interesting character as he basically brought down an entire empire for his own selfish needs.

A bit of an out there statement, but I came across this semi old post about asking How old Serana was since she didn't know about the Empire of Cyrodiil, which the first Empire was founded 1E243, so fairly early in the first era. Considering how long it lasted. Which implies a lot on her age. Though she couldn't be older than the Snow elves of the forgotten vale. Since the Arch-Curate Vrythur, one of the last snow elves, created the old prophecy her father follows. Personally I think Serana's probably over 2000+ but not like 4000+ since Lamae Bal was turned into the late merethic to early 1st era. Which also imply Serana was one of the first vampires.
