When my daughter was little we thought she had Williams Syndrome, but it didn't show up in her chromosome test. Then we thought for sure it was Fragile X Syndrome, but that didn't test out either. Eventually she was diagnosed with ADHD and ASD1. She's 22 years old now. and very happy that she finally has an explanation for things that are challenging for her. She's married to a wonderful man who knows exactly how to support her.

That’s nice
@grantavakjan94886 ай бұрын
And just one question - without any bad intentions ; without naming the problems (or the disorders) you think you wouldn't be able to help ? Or figure out how to support her? That obsession with diagnosis in the modern era seems sometimes really absurd to me. It changes nothing about the objective reality of things. I guess and feel that it's more about relieving of the responsibility for one's own behavior. Instead of maybe trying harder to work on yourself people are almost proud to say they have ADHD. Which is btw not really a genetic disorder per se, rather something influenced by the conditions and environment.

@@salmeleonsthe mom explains it in the video... people with William's Syndrome have autistic traits being hypersensitivity one of them. Generally, they can hear, smell, taste... More than neurotypicals. That's why she can sing on tune, because she might have a perfect pitch. I'm autistic and I don't have a perfect pitch, though, but I can tune pretty well and pronounce languages better than others.

My wife did a second major in therapy with an emphasis on play therapy. I can tell you her response to that would be something like "Amen, brother (or sister)". We home schooled, and our kids still thank us for it. We did it for scholastic reasons, primarily, as the schools here in Fl, in our area, aren't too great. After a while they both directed their own schooling, and are doing great as young adults, one owned a business in computer repair and IT, and now pulls down an engineering salary, undegreed, and the other is doing what she truly loves.

Even though Sunny was very "sunny" and cheerful in this video, I got the impression that she was facing many challenges emotionally and mentally at times. You do not really see much of this during the interview. Chris is so good at being cheerful and sunny himself, so that was not going to happen. Sunny felt confused a bit here and there but it passed swifty. Her mother and father are good examples of how to just keep loving one another and being supportive with all the sincerity of their heart. Sunny also has a very big heart and wants to cheer everyone up, which is one of the best personality traits anyone could ever have. Patient continual supportive love seems to be the key to living and working with Sunny. In this way, any moments of confusion or micro-depressions will simply go away. All our love and prayers for a family so truly blest by God and Love.
