This is proof that music really can soothe wild animals. Special thanks to Paul Barton

Paul is exceptional, but if we all, ordinary people, just gave one act of kindness everyday to man or beast, the world would be somewhere we would be proud to live.

It makes sense Elephants would love piano music since Elephants are known to communicate through seismic waves, either by means of vibrations on earth surface or acoustical waves 😊😊😊
@rachmann5164 ай бұрын
It's more than the vibrations /seismic waves. As sentient beings, animals recognise and respond to the structure in the music. You can tell the difference in their response to the unstructured traffic or the unstructured construction works vibrations and the structured form of music. There is semaphore in music and there is "rasa" (flavour) that only sentients have an inherent ability to read.

So lovely to see people playing for animals! The elephants seem to really enjoy it. Studies have shown that children listening to Mozart learn better. As a teacher, I thought I’d try it. The kids liked it so much that if I forgot to put on the music, they would ask for it! They said it helped them to think.

I watch your work from Pakistan where piano is not a common instrument. I got one at age fifty and taught myself to play the same pieces you are playing in this video. That was twelve years ago.... I have played for my rescued animals, with some of them in my lap as they went through their last moments. Somehow, I felt I was honoring these lives, and playing them into a place of peace and beauty. Coming across your video with you playing the same beautiful compositions makes me feel more connected to those who love these sentient beings and makes me feel less alone

You CAN talk to ALL animals!!! I strongly believe they understand what we say, even if they don’t understand what the words mean exactly, they do understand the intent behind them! Whenever you speak, what you’re saying is fueled by emotion, emotion is extremely powerful with vibration and vibration is the main thing that all life forms understand and use to communicate what they are thinking and feeling. The next time you wish you could talk with an animal….DO IT!!!! I think you will be surprised at how well it works.

Humans sadly only ever see some of our fellow creatures to be exploited and not worthy of care & protection. Paul’s emotional reaction when talking about his experiences playing for the elephants made it so clear he only saw them as what they truly are - complex, sentient creatures that are capable of many of the emotions that too many humans think only they are capable of. I would consider it an honour to shake Paul’s hand and thank him for spending time with such wonderful creatures.

the problem with being an angry elephant is that people will always see and treat you like that even if you have totally changed wich just backs you into a reactionary trap of expectations, these vague labels tell us how to treat other elephants, but seem to ignore all the other possabilities of such a complex creature, fear of being hurt is understandable, but his reasoning to keep us away is probably from the same place, humans are rarely this kind, ignorance is the easy choice when we let fear rule, but Music always fights back same with humas maybe, I really love these videos, much love to your elephant brothers and sisters!

I am not religious but I’m moved to say bless you for representing the humans on this planet that feel strongly regarding the way such beautiful & sentient fellow creatures have (and continue) to be treated so cruelly. what a truly indescribably beautiful, wonderful gift he continues to share with these elephants, these angels. when treated with humility that’s exactly what they exhibit, which doesn’t suprise me. i suppose this is some semblance of justice, giving to them the humanity that was taken from them. although it’s only part of a greater reckoning; activism aganist animal cruelty and education is the other half, i think. may he continue to play for them, for as long as he can. they deserve every bit of peace, love, and compassion that music can provide
