Percius Mercius is one of my favorite npcs in all Elder Scrolls. Guy is a solid bro and one of the best allies. Makes the fighters guild in morrowind even better

I'm sure others have already suggested this, but I do hope you would consider checking out Tamriel Rebuilt/Project Tamriel. The good folks behind those mods have spent a comparable (if not greater) amount of time as Bethesda themselves working on Morrowind, and many such as myself believe that they at times surpass the level of quality the original game offers. Just yesterday Project Tamriel released their own take on County Anvil/The Gold Coast (adapted to the Kingdom of Anvil and the Strident Coast respectively), and I would love to hear your thoughts on it as well as the other releases. Obviously it's all fan-made, and must be presented as such, but it's so intertwined with the future of this wonderful game at this point that it seems a shame to not give it the attention it deserves. Anyways, enough free advertising. Happy holidays and thanks for the great content as usual!

So glad to see more Morrowind content from you :) I'm always torn between the guild questlines in Morrowind and Oblivion. In general, Oblivion had tighter, more narrative-driven questlines that felt maybe more holistic in nature. But Morrowind's guild questlines had you actually need to be well versed in the skills required of you, and had you explore more of the map and more of the lore in general. Oblivion's fighter's guild had you take a quest in Chorrol that actually takes place in Leyawiin, etc. Just felt like a fast travel fetch quest until the Blackwood Company arc

Very well put! Completely agree! If you take away the NPC dialogue and performances, Morrowind has Oblivion beat!

A seemingly straightforward guild that still manages to have plenty of twists and turns to it. A fantastic quest line that doesn't just hand you ask the secrets and then makes you leader of the guild after a week of working for them.

Idk if someone has commented this or not, but when you talk to an NPC with your weapon out it lowers their disposition by 5. Sheathing your weapon and talking again with the NPC and the disposition will be back to normal. I can’t remember if it happens with your spell hands out when initiating conversation with an NPC.

Fighters guild has branching paths. Percius Mercius in Ald'ruhn is an oldschool heroic type and sympathetic to the Thieves guild. All other guild halls, especially Vivec, are under Camonna influence to some degree. Many suspicious-looking quests can be discussed with Percius, and he can provide context and advice. I think Caius Cosades specifically namedrops Percius Mercius as a trustworthy man in the guild, but the game should definitely do a better job at directing the player to Ald'ruhn early.

@oathkeeperofoblivion9723 күн бұрын
Okay so. Most of the way through the video, i just wanna say that the fighters guild actually has multiple endings, and youve locked yourself out of one of them by killing innocent people for the more corrupt side of the guild: if you want to go for the other ending, check the ald'ruhn chapter. Its well worth it, imo.

Tbh i usually play with Fighters Guild or House Redoran in my gameplay
@l0rf3 күн бұрын
Normally, the fighter archetype with the warrior house is the vanilla option. In Morrowind, I don't think any option is truly average.
@ABardsBallad3 күн бұрын
I’m excited to try out Redoran next! They both have elements of fighting in their culture so they probably go hand in hand nicely!
@slickjack26183 күн бұрын
Well, Caius said you should check out and maybe join some of the local Morrowind Guilds. But, no! You decided that some old skooma addict didn't know what he was talking about and just rushed through the Main Quest without deigning to attempt the Guilds. After all, you knew better! Now, you find yourself completing level one quests and feeling all so superior! It has been over a decade since I've played Morrowind, although I still consider it the best of the Elder Scrolls game. The services provided by the Guilds, the requirements needed for advancement within the Guilds, and the political/cultural complexity of inter-Guild relations all make them much more vital and important to the Player's experience within the game than Bethesda bothered to deal with in later Elder Scroll games. You know, it's really a shame that you blew your only chance to play Morrowind for the very first time by consciously refusing to follow the hints and clear directions given within the game to fully undertake the experience. I'd be willing to bet you didn't even read the printed manual that came with the pair of CD's. No working your way up the House hierarchy, no purple gloves, you really have managed to avoid at least half the game. The real shame is that you'll never be able play the game for the first time again. - sj

Tbh, i think the best way to play morrowind, is to only do a few factions per playthrough. The gsme is not designed like later titles to be the leader of every faction by the end. Just my reccomendation to new morrowind players : )
@ABardsBallad3 күн бұрын
You’re definitely right on that one! Lots of interweaving with the other questlines and NPCs!
@l0rf3 күн бұрын
You are on a mission from God. Well, a Prince. You really need to stop the Sharmat and topple the tribunal. All of these guild affairs are, at best, stepping stones to the power you need and distractions at worst. Of course, you can always come back after your adventures in red mountain to become guild master of them all.

I have a character build idea for Oblivion if you want to make a video on it. It’s called the Merchant Thief. Race: Khajiit Birthsign: The Thief Class: Merchant (costume) Attributes: Personality and Agility Skills: illusion, light armor, marksmen, mercantile, security, sneak and speech craft Quest: Main Quesline, Thieves Guild, Two Sides of the Coin and Caught in the Hunt I haven’t came up with a backstory so if you want you can also make one up Equipments: glass bow, glass boots, glass gauntlets, glass dagger m, green brocade doublet and green silk garments
