My boy seems to be everywhere. It's awesome really, considering he's relatively minor in terms of where he shows up, he has one of the more fulfilling backstories around if you dig in to the extra stuff.

Toval is one of my favorite characters in the series, it killed me that he didn't get more screen time in Cold Steel! I really want him to get his own game. Maybe he could be the MC of the Arteria/Leman arc.

He would be great as an MC. As a bracer, the guys all over the place, so there could be a potential for it. But I think Falcom will most likely keep him as the reliable dude on the sidelines, and give the spotlight to someone else.

It's clear that the manga companion takes place in between Sky 2 and Zero. But many like myself didn't know that manga existed until recently, so we wouldn't have read it. I feel like Toval should have been introduced into the series through one or two of the Moon or Star Doors in Sky 3. He just kind of shows up for one or two scenes in Cold Steel 1 for the sole purpose to move the story along. His backstory doesn't even really get covered in Cold Steel 2 or 3 either and he's never in the party very long. I feel like having a Moon or Star Door showing Estelle and Joshua meeting him somewhere before the start of Zero, explaining his background would have been a really good way to set him for when he shows up the Erebonian arc. Similarly to how those doors set up for characters like Lechter and Osborne or the Phantasmal Blaze Plan that would take place in the following two arcs.

He really is a solid character. Replaying through CS1 and CS2 now, and I feel I'm appreciating him even more. It's crazy that he was hinted on way back in Sky FC, insane foreshadowing!

Great video. I haven’t played any other of the legend of heroes games, just cold steel 1.2 and 3. And recently. Great games, love the story and characters. And I didn’t know anything about Tovar, other than what the show in cold steel. Can’t wait for cold steel 4! Damn, long time.

Glad to hear you're enjoying them! :) I've just binged through another 8 hours of CS3 today, right at the end of chapter 4 now. Once that's over, if the ending is as people say, I might actually buy the Japanese version of CS4 and play that. There are so many things I want to know that CS4 can solely answer, and I don't think I can wait a year or two to have those answers given to me.

It's been up in the air whether Toval is A rank or not. I've had a gander to make sure, and I'm pretty certain he's still B rank come CS3!

Really? i though the Guild wanted to promote him to A-Rank but he refused 'cause he didn't think that what he did deserves that much praise (like Arios refused his S-Rank promotion), well time to replay the game ^^

@@TheKisekiNut Maybe there was a translation error in the English translation or something? ( they called LT COLONEL Neithardt MAJOR Neithardt a few times after for sure indicating he was promoted) I'm absolutely certain that he was referred to as A Rank in the English version of CS3

I don't think we'll see Zin if I'm honest. Apparently, this game is going to be running concurrently with the new arc up to a point, and if that's the case, I would expect to see Zin in the other arc. But as for Kevin, who knows!

I would argue the Bracer Guild is shady as an organization itself. It holds confidential information it should not posess, uses any and all means to spy on all govertments (for the protection of civilians, they claim), and most importantly it "demands" compensation for their services. This is important because Crossbell's and Cold Steel make you forget that Bracers make helping people their daytime job so they don't do charity work (and sometimes cajole plenty of payment from government officials). You can imagine why governments and nobles dislike them (since they basically suck their pockets dry while spying on them AND having a great amount of popularity with the citizens).

@@LeonGun8 your comment put the bracer guild in another light, and I'm very interested lol. Like... The guild's history seems vague. Was "civilians safety" their intention since the beginning? Who's the mastermind behind this big, international organizations? Who's their big leader? I always had those kind of questions in my mind. Maybe it's because I'm not that deep into the game yet, or maybe I'm missing some details, but I don't think I've seen any clue to my questions so far. The guild big boss could be related to the Grandmaster--who knows? 😂 Please kindly correct me if I'm wrong... I'd like to discuss more about the guild's history though. I'll go search for more information about the guild now... hope TKN will do one about it! 😂

Yeah, after playing Cold Steel 1 and 2, I didn't actually know about all the stuff he got up to prior, but it turns out, he's quite a deep character. I would highly recommend reading Carnelia and Ring of Judgement for more detail!

Considering the end of ToCS3 I just finished, I thought it would be impossible to get spoilers on a Toval specific lore coverage. But the fact that you end the video the way you do referencing a few things I know nothing about makes me think maybe just maybe I can hold out hope something good happened off camera to key passengers on the Couragous..... I don't know, I feel that Falcom requires a certain 'type' of character to kill off, as they don't do it very often, at least from what I've seen. So far in Trails, the only one that comes to mind is Loewe and Weissman. I just think Toval isn't as 'major' as Falcom would want him to be for a straight up killing off.

I dunno. You dont actually see him die and the game ends before you would find out. Same goes for the other 2 involved. Also goes for a certain someone copper georg claims to have killed. We never truly see them die. And even when we see someone die, it isnt always what it seems... or have you forgotten about the chancellor? Sorry for not naming names but im trying to keep spoilers to a minimim.
