@@epic-o2215 Well because Illidan took a much harsher path that of course everyone else found evil but he himself saw as necessary. Its why illidan has my utmost respect. Despite everything, he persisted and got himself a personal 1v1 with Sargeras like he has always wanted. Meanwhile, Mr. Shitter Stormrage got Ysera killed.

@@Risen_Star I don't hate Illidan but I have a hard time respecting a character who enslaves and chokes an entire world for his perceived "chosen one" complex. Obviously they retooled his character after bc but there was a reason he needed to be killed in that expansion. He was out of control

Great video as usual Nobbel but I feel like the at least imo Elune saying she sent the cascade of souls for the Night Queen means that Elune was within her power to stop the burning of Teldrasil but chose not to to help her sister because I doubt she would voluntarily kill her favoured children, but letting them die when she has spared them before is entirely different, just my 2 cents worth.

​@@AstralHealthGuy Yeah, it's like asking would a warlock survive without his demonology and rituals? Would a warrior survive without weapons, armors and equipment specially crafted/adjusted for him? The whole concept of the priest/priestess class is to attune himself/herserlf to their god/goddess, to the point they become one. Read 'god/goddess' here as a generic word for a conscious force/power/entity. :]

I think Elune did not allow Tyrande to kill Sylv because she said "her life for mine". Maybe the power needed to kill Sylv would kill Tyrande too, and Elune still has plans for her

Yeah thats the only way this makes sense tbh. Ysera showing up immediately after to protect her could also be easily interpreted as her influence. Elune either refused to trade Tyrande's life away, even at her own behest, or perhaps simply disapproved of how much her hatred seemed to be consuming her, however justified her fury was.

The Dark Trolls were imbued with the power of the old Well of Eternity on Kalimdor (then basically like a Pangaea), eventually morphing into Elves. Basically like magic-fuelled evolution. Other troll races still exist, but that particular branch for the most park evolved into elves. Those elves were the Night Elves, although some branched off to become the blood elves, while some remained in Suramar and became the Nightborne- basically just the night elves before they abandoned the arcane for druidic/priestly power.

The only part of the story that shows blizzards terrible writting is when anduin and especially baine start being in charge around bfa even tyrande and malfurion especially should of been like caitnes son? Like...the night elfs and druids especially never had issues with tauren ever they were allies long before orcs and trolls were.

So what makes sense for me so far is, that even when the first ones knew what Zovaal would do, they would not stop him, because the burning of Teldrassil and the death of all the night elves would be necessary for something bigger, even if it was cruel to no end. But when i understand it right, they were laid to sleep, so they would not feel their death right? So that even puts Sylvannas in a bigger picture here, and makes her role even bigger, which i love, because i really love her, and i wonder, was Sylvannas really working for Zovaal, or was this orchestrated by someone else? I would not go as far as for the first ones, but maybe Elune had her fingers in this? Which could actually mean a first one had her fingers in it, we do not know that yet. :P So the story may has it flows, i still love it, and i love Sylvannas to death. :P

In her talk with her sister Elune told the Winterqueen "I heard your call, and so I send souls", so to me that sounds like she would have burned down the tree herself, if Sylvanas had not done it. Not to forget, that Sylvanases first plan was not the burning of that tree, but she wanted Malfurion dead and took the tree as second best option, so all that sounds like it at least had Elunes blessing.

@@leandrobravo3319 no you are misinterpreting the conversation. Elune certainly wouldn't have burned the tree. Ardenweald was already dying when sylvanas was invading teldrassil and elune might have intervened differently were it not for the winter queens prayer, begging for aid. At that time elune was also witnessing teldrassil. The most likely explanation is that elune chose to shepherd the souls toward ardenweald to help her sister(not knowing where they would end up). Remember also that just because she can protect them doesn't mean she always will. She clearly has other responsibilities in the universe. "In the wake of tragedy" refers to sylvanas attack in teldrassil, from there instead of keeping the souls as wisps as she normally would, she decided to help ardenweald. To do this without suffering, she put everyone to sleep so they would pass without torment. thus the "great purpose and duty" shandris refers to.

I guess this is an old answer but clearly none of this came to pass. Sylvanas was only aligned with zooval and elune only ever intended to help the winter queen and did not know about the maw. So she gave tyrande the choice of vengeance or renewal since she made a mistake by not knowing exactly what was going on before attempting to aid ardenweald

Like I tried to say: Elune did not intervene to stop the burning of the tree, giving her sister the souls (from Elunes perspective, as she did not know) and she would have had to find another way to get those souls, if Sylvanas did not burn the tree. Fine, but bottom line: She did not stop the tree from conviniently burning down. And regarding her "other duties", she was there, making the elves inside the tree sleep to die painles, so as long, as forcing thousands of elves to sleep takes a lot less time, than, Idk, sending rain, she did let it happen.

Certainly not evil either, she doesn't have time to figure out how to save ardenweald later, she made a decision on the spot k owing the night elves would be rewarded in an eternal life in ardenweald after. She was granting them a heaven ending, or so she thought.

I can never understand how anyone likes her. Easily the worst character in the story, and the nightelves are amongst the worse races in the setting. Hell the whole animosity between them and the horde is their fault, and specifically Tyrande's. For a millenia old leader she sure cant foresee any consequences to her own actions or behvaiours.

What? By you're logic if i came to someone's property and destroyed it then it will be their fault? And no she's not the worst character in WoW that would be Sylvanas and Nathanos by how ridiculous their level of plot armor is, there was not a single instance where i couldn't feel like the writers wasn't saying "oh please don't hurt her she's innocent its all just part of that weirdos 6 dimensional plan"

Great video. But I do not like how the story of WoW is going. Tyrande now forgives Sylvanas. And Elune is a terrible goddess in my opinion letting her favorite people burn to death. Sylvanas story is now terrible to, where she will be forgiven for doing horrible things, I feel.

ACcording to Lore, there needs to be pure souls that are judged upon death that can go to the Sacred gardens. Warriors, greedy and other souls go elsewhere. Not many souls are worthy, but night elves are guaranteed. By sacrificing them, she was hoping to make a deal that would last for much longer than those souls would be worth. If it wasn't for the Maw happening it would have been worth it in the long run. So in short, we need more night elves so maybe making them mortal would make htem reproduce more? idk.

Very good video. I think it is worth noting as well that tyrande was a target to be abducted by sylvanas and zooval but was the only one to resist. We also know that she was picked along with her fellow leaders for her sense of duty. We know now that she would have been a candidate to infiltrate bastion and become the jailers weapon. A terrifying thought if she was able to use the night warriors power while also infused with the jailers power.

25:40 I know Illidan was an edgelord who really could have made things easier for himself by actually explaining his plans to Malfurion and Tyrande....but the fact that they shut him in prison for 10,000 years and made sure he couldn't die, sleep, or give him any food or sustenance....then at this point they're like "Wow, we completely forgot about him...could he still be alive? Well, lets use him against our enemies, but as soon as this is over we'll put him right back into those conditions" the end of his storyline in Legion sucked, but it sucks even more when you realize he still cared deeply about these two and yet what we see here in Warcraft 3, and then in the end of Legion, neither Malfurion or Tyrande really gave a shit about the guy... man that sucks.

So much time has passed and I still can not look an Terrorande, without thinking "Bl--dy C_T!". Elune confessing, that she simply did let the nighelves die in that tree, to send souls to her sister, might look like she is innocent, but honestly, she could just have send ... rain? Like, that helps with fire, just saying? But that green-haired waste of energy Tyrande herself has made her own bad mistakes. She is like 12k years old an I know todlers, who have more patience and self-controle. "Oh no, Baddy Xavius has taken my husband again, let me better ignore the fact that we are just going through the appocalypse and run of to save him, in the proces sacrifising Ysera!". As if Xavius did not prove his ... competence time and time again. Not to mention, that from the get-go it was obvious, what he was aiming for, so a smart person would have went to Illidan and send him after his brother, or just trustet the hero. But no, Miss "No one may teach me!" had to do it herself, without waisting like ... 2 seconds, to think about the possibilitys. Getting her little Nightwarrior-Powerup and doing what with it? Oh, yes, she killed Nathanos ... Worth it, for sure. Totaly worth for the player having to save her useless a_s in SL. But the most love she gets from me for that talk with Sauerfang "Oh no, how dare you, not to murder my husband?" is the baseline of that one. Honestly, the only reason I was glad about Malfurion being spared, was because half the expension already felt lik "Mimimi my husband!" and his death would have made the rest of it about that, too. I won't go into the part with Illidan, but if he ever returns, someon should have a talk with him about how you don't put your best friend into crazy.
