Great job again. Live vocal is charming. I appreciate that as a challenging performance.

Thank you so much, I am known as quite a talker, but even I struggle with a continuous monologue over 20 minutes long.

At the trial no mention is made of Archibald injuries, the Doctor giving testomy of his injuries, Would have been able to explain that Archibald could not have inflicted them on himself as they were to the rear of his head & back also if Archibald was attacked on the floor as he struggled on the floor with his attacker he would have had bruises on the front & back of his body, perhaps if these questions had been asked & answered he wouldn't have stood trial never mind transported

It often feels, with these old cases, that once they decided who did it there was no turning back. The defence, even in cases where something was clearly not right, never seemed to stand a chance.

@@julieswallsendhistory8671 Quite agree with you there, it does appear where the less well off or educated, are concerned, they have no one considered of good standing in society to stand up for them & speak of their good character, even the word of the local clergy, is. held in doubt because of being placed in a poor parish, The defences apathy in the case speaks volumes, he's turned up to show that the prisoner has legal representation & to collect his fee for doing nothing. Had the client been one of society the lawyer would certainly have worked to earn his crust to prove their innocence .

@@irenabevans3411 So many could not afford help, in some cases the Judge would appoint someone, but it often does feel that they did not try their best. While others seemed to come up with very bizarre forms of defence, perhaps hoping it would work and they would "make a name" for themselves. Very few seemed to truly care about their less well off clients.

What could the motive of the murder of Mille by Bolan be? Ah! Ridley did it, in disguise; why else don a disguise? Was the broken glass broken inward or outward? That was never divulged by the authorities. Best story yet Julie IMO.

Thank you, I was fascinated by this one. It was so "high profile" at the time, I could have almost written a book about it. I have my theories, one being Ridley. The dog was odd too, mentioned in the beginning then they seemed to just forget about it, so we never found out where it came from.

What happened to Archibald’s children!? Money was raised for Joseph’s children, but what about Archibald’s children?

Often you would find in cases like this the victims family would always come first and sometimes it would only be them who were helped, but in a few cases the family of the "criminal" would be helped too.

A lot of confusing things about this story but that one is very odd.

Piccture houses? Did they have such things then? Re the coal in the deceased`s pockets, I think he was just pinching a bit ti take home and wrapped the bits in paper to keep his pockets clean, simple.

That was my first thought too, wrapping the coal to keep his coat clean. Yes it would help it to burn too, but not if it was a long way from the fire.
