Black Plague Doctors were physicians who treated bubonic plague victims in Europe during the 14th and 15th centuries. They wore distinctive outfits, including a long cloak, a wide-brimmed hat, and a beak-like mask filled with aromatic substances. The attire aimed to protect doctors from miasma and mask the smell of illness. Plague doctors carried staffs and pouches with herbs, but their medical practices were often ineffective due to limited understanding of infectious diseases. The image of the Black Plague Doctor has become a symbol of the medieval plague outbreaks.
