The Strangest Model Kit EVER? I just added it to the stash!

I've been on the road lately and got to attend a couple epic model shows. Of course, I've added a few very unique models to the stash. One might be the strangest kit I've ever added to the stash.

I used to think Bandai's styrene kit of a "Cup-O-Noodles" was the weirdest kit I'd seen, but that wheelbarrow rod takes the prize! 😅

You got an awesome score my friend! My grandma bought me that elegant farmer kit from a flea market in Tennessee in the 80's I bet! It was missing the rear wheels so I had to improvise a bit. But that's awesome! I've never seen another one since! Now the other $15 you spent. . . 🤯 oh and 🤯🤯 great job man!! I would love either of those as well! I love the bag kits I spend most my time going through them while at the shows! Great job taking me down memory lane! I seriously hope you build that wheelbarrow man!

I remember seeing "The Elegant Farmer" only once when I was 10 years old at our local Venture store when it first came out in 1970. It didn't appeal to me at the time, and never saw it anywhere else. I hope you have a great time building what has to be, "The Strangest Model Kit Ever," (at least as far as car kits go; though the MPC "Sticks and Slicks" series kits certainly come in a very close second for the title . . . .) 72nd Like.

@@timkustom I've been thinking about "cloning" the basic idea using "parts box" stuff and wood from a hobby shop and printed fabric from a craft store. The "clone" could be made to look more 'realistic' than the official "Sticks and Slicks" kits, which were more concept art than serious models. But if I could get a legit "Sticks and Slicks" kit for my collection, I wouldn't turn it down . . . . Again, I wish you the best with your Elegant Farmer build!

Definitely a bizarre model subject. I've seen the boxes but never seen one built. It's rare and unusual enough that I think it's a good candidate for box stock.

You should have used the subtitle "That wasn't made in Japan" The Japanese have made some truly weird kits of some strange subjects over the years, including an injection molded kit of an injection molding machine and more recently a 1:1 scale plastic kit of a cup of noodles! As for the "Elegant Farmer", I don't think it was a very good seller back then, so I doubt it would ever be reissued. I think you should build it! I don't recall ever seeing one of those built.
