One of the big reasons only 4% of Americans had passports in 1990 is you didn't need one to go to Canada, Mexico, and much of the Caribbean.

People travel because they are curious about the world and enjoy nicer weather within a season. Most didn't travel back then because nobody knew how to do it except the wealthy. I used to be kind of freaked out by people who never wanted to leave home, but as I grew old, I found many are just happy to be in the same place every day forever. To each their own.

I dont think you needed a passport to go to Canada or Mexico until recently. So that's probably part of the reason theres so many more now. If you live in Europe, being "well traveled" isn't much to brag about considering how easy it is compared to the US. Im sure most Europeans havent flown across the ocean to North America. Alot of Europe, you can practically drive like 4 hours in any direction and be in a different country. Lots of options for easy train rides etc. I can get in my car and drive East for 30 hours and still be in the US lol.

I used to little uptight americans not wanting to visit europe. But these days I totally get it. USA has just about any type of climate you could want and plenty of different culture to experience. If my country had mountains and more snow in the winter and more sun in the summer I would probably not want to leave either 😅

I live worked in NYC for most of my adult life and live right on the other side of the river. I will say since the pandemic and riots in 2020 it’s never really been the same. Something is missing and it’s hard to explain. Bars are not as crowded. Merchandise in stores is all locked up because of shoplifting, many private business are boarded up . Maybe it will turn around

The Spanish pineapple thing is more of a viral trend on the internet than a real dating practice. I am not sure how it started, maybe even the supermarket chain did it as some marketing stunt, but I am not really sure people were taking this seriously. It came up during this summer and everybody was making videos about "let's go to mercadona at 7pm and see what's up", but I have yet to see somebody make a video about meeting their SO doing this. Also, if I am not mistaken, the pineapple upside down is an international swingers sign😂 This whole thing was more of a joke than anything else, and it died down as fast as it started.

@Patson20
@Patson20 Ай бұрын
@sentientmlem727 this is why you can't afford to fly to Europe, you have no self control and choose convenience over long term goals. Just own that saving 15 min is worth not going places and stop making excuses. I work 12s every day that often run long, I meal prep all my meals and I've never once used a delivery app. I also took a week long carribean vacation this year, two hiking trips, and I'm planning another trip for Christmas. I save $500 a month by not going to the drive through, and if I door dashed instead that'd mean it would cost me almost a grand a month extra. I'm planning a trip to Austria for next year, you can get tickets at non peak times for $1200 round trip. That means if you don't eat out for two months you can afford a flight to Austria. Own your choices and stop making excuses.
