Also, I think it'd be sweet if he just showed up to offline tournaments in a full size zealot helmet :) then people still wouldn't know what he looks like and he can compete

All are perfectly valid reasons and he may not even need the money and just wants to enjoy the game. In the end, we can speculate all we want, but if this is his choice, then I choose to respect it and enjoy the few glimpses of genius that we get.

This game is an excellent example of how in pvt protoss can be dominating and only one small mistake can turn the game. Where terran can make multiple mistakes in a row and still somehow be ahead.😅 i feel bad for the pros who chose protoss as the race they practiced with for thousands of hours. If they only chose terran instead...😅😅😅

Its so funny to me that at 16:17 maxpax kills 23 scvs and two bases. 163 supply toss to 130 supply terran... and terran is absolutely not at all dead. Clem keeps it very very close and that game is decided on one disruptor. I think thats what is so irritating about terran.

MaxPax has made every other Protoss look underwhelming at best. In the recent Dark vs herO, herO looked like a bottom tier pro in comparison. He is fluctuating a lot in his plays with no consistency, and at his very best, he is barely at around 85-90% of MaxPax's peak plays.

Spoiler (kinda) Well MaxPax just shows, what i have been saying for quite some time. Its not that Protoss is weak, the problem is the lack of top of the line players. Hero is just too sloppy (i have made the argument in the past, that Reynor might be a better Protoss player - fewer build orders but way better mechanics), Showtime is a bit too slow, etc. Goblin might develop into a top tier player hopefully and there are a few others, that show promise.

With the meta the way is Protoss Must be aggressive and defensive at the same time in order to be the best. the standard build for toss is really just a don’t die to 5 mins attacks and lose in the late game. Terran and Zerg can just set back and let the toss player do whatever without fear dying to early attack; (only exception is 1 base all ins and applies to all races) ,but toss give Terran the ability get 3 base up without delay their behind same with Zerg.

Reynor's Protoss is not even close to any of the top 10 Protoss players. The new balance patch isn't live so not shown in the data yet, but you can see real tournament balance on aligulac: both Terran match-ups have perfect 50% balance. Protoss is crushing Zerg at 60%.

If MaxPax played in premier tournaments then toss would for sure have at least a couple tournament wins, because damn is he just a lot better than all the other toss (hero, the second best protoss, keeps losing games by using all army hotkeys and gifting away units). But Toss also is definitely the race with fewest chat up mechanics to it, meaning it's very punishing to play
