Summary: In 1950 Earl Nightingale was inspired by the words "we become what we think about" in Napoleon Hill's book Think and Grow Rich around the same time he bought an insurance agency. He provided weekly motivational speeches to the agency's sales staff. In 1956, he recorded a motivational speech to be played while he was on vacation.
The motivational speech explores the concept of success and how to achieve it.
In the recording, Nightingale discusses the idea that success is not the result of luck or chance, but rather a direct result of our thoughts and actions. He argues that the key to success is to have a clear and specific goal, and to take consistent action towards achieving that goal. Nightingale also emphasizes the importance of personal responsibility and the role that our beliefs and attitudes play in determining the course of our lives. He encourages listeners to adopt a positive and proactive mindset, and to take control of their thoughts and actions in order to create the life they desire.
"Before listening to this recording, I want you to realize, that...
Your job, regardless of what it may be, holds within it the KEY to success and abundance. This recording, 'The Strangest Secret', gives you that KEY...tells you how to make the most of your own capabilities...how to attain the rich full measure of success and happiness that can surely be yours. You and you alone determine the DEGREE of your success. By following the principles set forth in this recording, you are bound to achieve a better way of life...starting now!" - Earl Nightingale

FOR 30 DAYS : 1) Write on a card what it is you want (anything).Make sure is a single goal and clearly defined! DO NOT SHOW IT TO ANYONE. But carry it with you so you can look at it several times a day. Think about it in a cheerful relaxed and positive way each morning when you get up. Look at it every time you can during the day and right before going to bed at night. As you look at it remember you MUST BECOME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT. It's yours really the moment you write it down. 2) STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT IT IS YOU FEAR. Each time a fear thought comes , replace it with a positive image of your goal. For 30 days you must take control of your mind. 3) Don't concern yourself with how you will achieve it, is not your problem! Universe has you. Do this for 30 days .

I just wanted to leave this comment. I watched this video for the first time in early February... and listened to it again, even after I started the challenge. It's all true, I'm still in a little shock. After years of trying to quit cigarettes 🚬 🙃 🤢🤮 I finally did it, and I'm a month and a half in. This is huge for me! So, just wanted to say Thank you, quite much. This has changed my life. And now I'm working on other health goals. It set things in motion... 🙏💪

I remember many years ago I ask a successful man "Real Estate Investor" what is the secret? I was washing his truck at the time and he looked at me and said I have never had anyone ask me that before.... and after some silence, he told me that no one ever gave him anything but his father told him to listen to this every day and his life would change and it did. But he told me that he would not give it to me because people that get something for free don't value it. So I found it on cassette... Yes, cassette, and yes it was a long time ago, and yes my life has changed a great deal since then. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the reminder!

Major congrats on your achievements!! With respect to what the gentleman said about not giving you the cassette for free… It’s not that people don’t value things given for “free”. Instead, people who are not diligently seeking & desiring change don’t value things given to them for free. Reminds me of an ancient scripture that says “Don’t Cast Your Pearls Before The Swine”-meaning don’t give those things of value to those who don’t desire to see & feel themselves to become of value, as they’ll squander them. There are numerous people, myself included, who have received free gifts to help make better our life, and who have deeply valued and cherished those gifts as magnificent blessings, all because of our nature of thinking & feeling about truly desiring to change our life. Nonetheless! Continue expressing your greatness, and inspiring others to do the same! 💡👑🚀✨

Six Steps to help you realize success: 1. Have an ultimate goal 2. Quit running yourself down 3. Stop thinking of all the reasons you cannot be successful and instead think of all the reasons you can. 4. Trace your attitudes back to your childhood and try to discover where you first got the idea you couldn’t be a success- if that’s the way you’ve been thinking 5. Change the image you have of your self by writing out a description of the person you would like to be 6. Act the part of the successful person you have decided to become

I first heard of this concept around the age of 25. I had my doubts so I decided to put it to the test. I wrote on a grease board “a fortune by age 35 (I had a specific number in mind)”. Why not? Ten years to manifest and according to the concept, there is no limit. The message stayed there for years. I had no idea how it might come to pass. Now I am 33 and a few steps away from fulling that goal. My only concern now is I didn’t dream big enough! I’m currently trying to overwrite the old program with a new loftier one! This really is incredible

To add one more thing…. The ritual is important. Have a ritual that works for you. It could be a dream book, writing into the sand for the waves to wash away, vision board, etc. Whatever ignites your heart the most and really makes you feel like you’ve already achieved it. It’s like waiting for a check from work, the money (the goal) is already yours, you are just waiting for the deposit to arrive in you bank account

I hope this helps whoever reads it. I followed this for 30 days. My goal was to change my self image and it worked. This is what I did. 1. Write out a statement of your Short Term Goal AND your Chief Aim/Main Goal... on a "goal card" or paper. 2. Write it out 50 times a day for 30 days preferably around the same time each day. After the 30 days, you go back and write it out ONCE a day. This is your compass in life. 3. Set your phone alarm to go off every 3 hours (to disrupt your daily routine) and when it goes off write down your statement and then close your eyes and see yourself with your goal for 2 mins. 4. Record your statement in your voice on a voice recorder on your phone, and play it back to yourself on loop while you sleep and as often as you can daily, example... in the shower or when you are using the rest room. 5. Find an accountability partner. If you cannot find someone, then you MUST write out your statement DAILY. By doing this you make yourself accountable to YOURSELF. 6. Find a community or FB group/group chat, etc and from that community form a Mastermind with one or two people who have studied from REAL Mentors and are giving VALUE. There is a "Law of Giving" and many people are using it. Andrew Carnegie told Napoleon Hill this back in the early 1900s. Its a LAW and it works. Its what I am doing with this post. 7. Auto-Suggest (Think and Grow Rich Chapter 4) to yourself in front of the mirror in the bathroom at least twice a day. Look directly INTO your eyes OR one eye and recite your WRITTEN statement. Then splash cold water on your face. This sudden shock seals the thought into the subconscious due to emotional and physical shock from the cold water. 8. Write out ten "I AM" statements a day. example. I AM happy, I AM more confident. Use the word MORE; implying you already have it, but want more. You trick the brain. 9. Write out 5 things you HAVE that you are grateful for and 5 things that you are grateful for that are coming to you. Mix up the list one after the other. 10. When in public tell people you see that you love them in your mind. Simply say "I LOVE YOU" to them as you pass them, especially when driving, because their subconscious hears and FEELS the intention. Say it to about 10 to 15 people daily. This increases your Good Karma. I hope this helps at least two people. It might seem like a lot. But it took me less than two weeks to incorporate the list into my life and 32 days later I started getting massive results. Thank you for reading.

Ive a sponataneous question - is your short term goal the pne for ur 30 days challenge, and ur long term one like something over the course of a year or so? How dy define these goals for you? Strictly taking Earl's word, he said to hold one specific goal in mind for 30 days

@@the_Success_Experiments Ah i see, i have many goals as well, so diluted and unrealized that i dont even know how to make something super specific, and worry it isnt the right goal for the 30 days challenge. Gna rant a bit. My goals, i realized, dont have specific indicators that ive reached. I cant quite test the law to the fullest. For example, I want to improve my natural eyesight but fear that just seeing and looking itself would bring my expectations down, or frankly even trying to look more attractive, which most ppl believe to be impossible, but i believe to be scarcely possible over many years which is too long and - these logical stuff stops me from starting :o These doubts are telling me to choose another goal instead, or maybe its a test of faith and persistence. Actually, maybe these doubts are there because i want so desperately for some law to be true, and some law to finally help my life. A fear that if this 30 days fails, if i fail at the end of it… it would be hopeless I fear so much 💀 guess thats the point of why im where i am right now

The Strangest Secret: We Become What We Think About. Marcus Aurelius: “A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.” Disraeli: “Everything comes if a man will only wait. I have brought myself by long meditation to the conviction that a human being with a settled purpose must accomplish it, and that nothing can resist a will that will stake even existence for its fulfillment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson: “A man is what he thinks about all day long.” William James: “The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind. We need only in cold blood act as if the thing in question were real, and it will become infallibly real by growing into such a connection with our life, that it will become real. It will become so knit with habit and emotion that our interest in it will be those which characterize belief. If you only care enough for a result, you will almost certainly attain it. If you wish to be rich, you will be rich. If you wish to be learned, you will be learned. If you wish to be good, you will be good. Only you must then really wish these things, and wish them exclusively, and not wish at the same time a hundred other incompatible things just as strongly.” Mark 9:23: “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Dr. Norman Vincent Peale: “This is one of the greatest laws in the universe. Fervently do I wish I had discovered it as a very young man. It dawned upon me much later in life, and I've found it to be one of the greatest, if not my greatest discovery outside of my relationship to God. The great law briefly and simply stated is that if you think in negative terms, you'll get negative results. If you think in positive terms, you will achieve positive results. That is the simple fact which is at the basis of an astonishing law of prosperity and success. In three words: Believe and Succeed.” William Shakespeare: “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.” George Bernard Shaw: “People are always blaming our circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want; and if they can't find them, make them.”

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou! This was amazing to listen to-inspiring, short and to the point! In 2019 I turned my life around by using the power of gratitude. I would write down (each day) everything I was grateful for and I would write down what I would like to achieve and feel grateful for that too! I went from financial ruin to being comfortable with very little effort at all, as if by magic! However I stopped doing it about 6 months ago and feel things slipping again. Finding this video has been a welcome reminder. 🌟 Starting my 30 days now. Thankyou and to everyone reading this I send you blessings in all that you would like to achieve in life 🌟 Much love from Western Australia! 🌟❤️

Six steps that will help you realize success. 1. Set yourself a definite goal 2. Quit running yourself down 3. Stop thinking of all the reasons why you cannot be successfuland instead, think of all the reasons why you can . 4. Trace your attitudes back through your childhood and try to discover where you first got the idea you couldn't be a successif that's the way you've been thinking. 5. Change the image you have of yourself by writing out a decription of the person you would like to be. 6. Act the part of the successful person you have decided to become. Dr.David Harold Fink MD.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. We can achieve nothing without paying its right price. You shall sell how much you are capable of selling. First thing is understanding emotionally as well as intellectually we literally become what we think about. Secondly cut all the fretters. Be free in mind. All your limitations are in mind. Its rising above narrow minded and pettiness. Let your mind soar. Thirdly find your courage to believe in yourself and believe in your mind to think all possible imaginations. Concentrate on your goals on a daily basis. To establish this in your mind that nothing is going to stop you. Fourth save atleast 10% of what you are earning. Fifth is taking actions.

The Strangest Secret is a personal development program created by Earl Nightingale, an American motivational speaker and author. It was first presented as a spoken-word recording in 1956, and later published as a book. The core message of The Strangest Secret is that our thoughts and beliefs have a powerful influence on our lives, and that we can achieve success and happiness by changing our thought patterns. Nightingale argues that most people simply go through life without a clear sense of purpose or direction, and that this lack of focus is the root cause of their problems. According to Nightingale, the "strangest secret" is simply that we become what we think about. He suggests that we can achieve anything we want in life by setting clear goals and focusing our thoughts on achieving them. He also emphasizes the importance of taking action, and not just waiting for success to come to us. The program includes practical tips and exercises for achieving success and happiness, such as creating a "goal card" to remind ourselves of our objectives, and practicing gratitude and visualization techniques. Nightingale's approach is grounded in a positive, optimistic philosophy of life, and his program has inspired millions of people around the world to take control of their lives and achieve their dreams.

Earl had some earthly wisdom for sure but it seems to me he left God out of the picture too often and as an avid rationalist he gave too much credit to man. Let us not forget what Jesus said: "Blessed or happy are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6

This teaching is very true. I've heard it before. I've also been told basically the same things by wise people in my life. I am proof of being who and what you want to be by believing in yourself and taking the chances and making the opportunities benefit you. You can be anything you put your mind to and it has to be in your heart also. There is a trap in this kind of thinking that everyone is at risk of falling into and that is letting this power direct you in destructive ways. Destructive for yourself and others around you. Temptations to take a shortcut or to use people and hurt people for your gain will always end badly for yourself and even if you achieve your goals this way, you won't be happy or be able to enjoy the life you've created for yourself. The secret is the goal, the path you take to get there is what determines the happiness you are rewarded when you achieve your goal.

Even a 1 day challenge is something. And a 7 day challenge is even better. While a 30 day challenge is fantastic. So yes challenge yourself by doing the things that have to be done(researching, analyzing, formulating, and experiencing), and by not doing the things that shouldn't be done(worrying, conforming, being lazy, and losing focus).

Many years ago, when I was a young man, I wrote down a list of 100 goals I wanted to achieve, ranging from very achievable to very unlikely (like owning a castle). After writing it I mostly forgot about it, but about 5 years later I found the list again and was really surprised to see how many of them had come to fruition, even some of the unlikely ones. From that moment on I realised how important it was to at least crystalize your ideas in some way, and that by even just writing them down caused your brain/mind to focus on them in a more tangible way. Now, I still don't own a castle (thought to be honest, the thought of owning a castle now is very unappealing) but I make sure I at least solidify my goals/dreams/wants etc. so that I have something to aim towards, and I find, as always, that even that small thing will constantly allow me to achieve a very large percentage of my goals.
