The National Museum of the US Air Force in Ohio, and Pima Air & Space Museum in Arizona are two other favorite places.

I dropped by this museum in 1975 and parked my 18-wheeler in the parking lot. The B-36 was sitting outside and was really in bad shape with the rudder completely eaten away. I am pleased they brought her inside and out of the elements. Excellent job filming and thanks a bunch for sharing!

Thanks Bob! I cant even imagine the work that went into getting it inside and cleaning it up. On a past visit they were working on the cockpit and they allowed a friend and I to go into the front half of the plane. To access the rear area you must ride in a small tube on a skateboard looking thing on rails. I will be going again soon, they recently adopted a F-117!

Well, I thought this museum was the same location as the Offett AFB one. It's only been 48 years ago, but I distinctly remember what a physical mess the B-36 was.@@stephendoughty3798

Vi have to assume that the SAC museum doesn’t have a lot of funding to work on the planes. Thank you to the. Volunteers who put in time to do this much

How in the world does the SAC museum not have a B-47? Even the USAF Armament Museum at Elgin AFB has one!
