The fact that Jarvis Cocker got onstage with the Strokes is awesome. Nevermind that Julian Casablancas was too high or drunk or whatever to make it really work. I always thought Britpop was a foundational element to the Garage Rock Revival. This validates my opinion.

The original is one of the best produced songs of the 70s. I didn’t really appreciate how layered it was until I saw Rick Beato’s video on it, but even if you don’t want to bother checking that out, I recommend you relisten to the original. It sounds very good.
