The more I listen to Julian's music, the more I'm impressed with him. The Strokes are obviously great. And as is Phrazes For The Young. But the fact that he can also write a song like this for another band, is just insane. This song has so many good elements, that it's just crazy. Well done Julian + The Voidz

I gotta disagree with anyone saying this could be a "Strokes" song. This has Voidz signature all over. The management of two guitars with heavy guitar effects, the percussion lines, and the synths are more intricate than Stroke's songs. With that being said, the first two minutes of this song are reminiscent of the 80's a la The Cars and it's just awesome. Can't wait for the new record.

Homer Simpson I have to disagree. I think this is very reminiscent to the strokes. More like something that would've come out on comedown machine or on angles. Although yes I think the synth gives it the voidz sound. The distortions on the guitar aren't very different from some the strokes have used in the past. I'm not saying it sounds exactly like a strokes song but they definitely could be compared.

I'm falling I'm your men Guess I've been taking a lot from you Searching so long for the truth You hoped that girl would chase you out the door As you think it - it's already too late Searching for meaning in a combination of notes Don't overthink it, don't overthink it Tired to wake so early Get up in the morning it just hurts And I think of all of those little things that you and I can do And now I've been taken too many hits Oh, I'm breaking off with all that stuff "Anybody else wants some?..." That's no good reason I broke up with Edison, I've had enough Shy, and fast times in the park Don't overthink it Sorry to wake so early Get up in the morning it just hurts I don't wanna hear what I can't mime Anywhere with you could change my mind Somebody's taking much too long Somebody's taking much too long Don't call me stupid Don't call me stupid It's my life and I can't delete it Is that the life I lead? All these surreal things and sudden decisions Just wanna waste my time with you I will leave it in my dreams Never let it bother me It's not my style I know you want it I know you want it Somebody's taking much too long Somebody's taking much too long Don't call me stupid Don't call me stupid

They sound tight. I was hoping Julian would do his cracked "tried to wake so early" in the second chorus. Super cool solo too. Interesting to see how it's played live.

people gotta stop comparing voidz to strokes, you are just going to piss them off guys, cant you put yourself in their position... they are trying something different... cant you respect that? i mean i know you mean no damage... i hope... but still is hella of annoying watching this comments... if you like strokes cool if you like voidz cool... dont expect anything, dont compare them... and voidz thank you, you just brought hope love and light to bands trying to make it in this hiphop electronic scene.

Live Vocal Production has come a long way. You can do all sorts of software processing with low enough latency to make it live. It's also possible to tune on the fly (live), and it doesn't have to be perfect, can just be a soft correct. However, I don't think there was any tuning here, just lots of processing to make it sound present, compressed, and distorted. In this day of age you can pretty much match whats done on a record, and do it live. I can even do it with my laptop, and I'm just an amateur. All that to say that I think Julian's vocals were live and his performance was great, I think he's really honed his craft and achieved great control over this voice. It's never been better, Kudos!
