This dance practice is the reason for me why Dream is the best dance group as all members can dance. As great as Mark Lee is, and being my favorite rapper really great in 127 and SuperM, but I believe Jeno and Jaemin was able to hold down the rap line down as a duo, the vocal line is top notch and Jisungs voice brings a nice tone to the songs. This boom era made them shine out extremely well as a 6 man group which I prefer, dont get me wrong Im happy with Mark Lee back as OT7.

@@DonKawaii1 hey, just incase you didn't know kpop songs has always concept on their MV/ choreography, like this one. boom concept is being aristocrat so their choreography is basing on that and they actually sing too while dancing on stages, it's not all about being powerful and such like American dancers that just focused on being powerful and swaggy dancing because they don't need to sing. ☺️ I'm just saying this because some reactors are just watching and giving reactions without knowing the basic knowledge about kpop songs, some of them are ignorants that just judged the song based on what they see, they didn't know that there are stories and such to kpop MV'S they all thinking that it's just for aesthetic, making them just going for the viewers and stuff. 😅

I agree with what you said about NCT Dream in comparison to other NCT subunits :) 127 & Dream are groups that have everything - good vocals, rap & dance. But somehow as a whole, in terms of balance, I feel that NCT Dream has a better balance in all of that? Each of the Dream members have a stronger stage presence in my opinion... though that could be due to the concept & line distribution hmmm.

I think it is a balance thing. Because usually when I watch other subunits, a lot of attention is geared towards certain members with the lines and moments they have. With Dream, I mostly see them as a whole and not just within the individual members.

Yup, Dream just has something right? There is a unity of feeling there (maybe because they started and have been performing together since they were so young?). I call it the Dream hive-mind, an argumentative and chaotic place sometimes ;) but so tight and hardworking too. the unity that your were talking about is so true bc the dreamies are very close with each other since they were kids meaning like Jisung was 11 or 12 when he first met the members and i feel like training together from a young age plays to that unity also their choreography has a lot of playing off each other which requires a lot of team work

i’d say jeno has some of the “manliest” features in nct as a whole. but he’s like taeyong in the sense where you think they’d have intimidating personalities but they’re the exact opposite

I think there are many reasons that makes Dream such a solid unit. 1. They're literally each other's best friends which gives them amazing chemistry and synchronicity as a group. 2. Their smaller age differences. Growing up and training together from their early developmental age means they're able to blend their dance styles together better. 3. They have a better balance between vocal & rap. Especially 6Dream when Jeno, Jaemin, and Jisung were allowed to rap and sing more. Also with 6Dream, I feel everyone was able to shine equally in their music and screentime. 4. Their concept. This one is a major one because their concept of growing up allows Dream to experiment in different music and dance styles. 127 & WayV experiments with their sounds but for the most part, it is consistent in one or two genres. Whereas Dreamies have almost dipped their toes into every genre and styles. The amount of knowledge and experience they're gaining at such a young age is setting them up to be a legendary group. PS. I don't know if you noticed Haechan not dancing in the MV until the end. He was busy with 127 overseas and was not able to prepare with Dream until a day or so before the shoot.

tbh, i love the dreamies more than any other unit in nct and my reason is similar with yours. the cohesiveness of their performance is awesome as a member's energy is always matched by the other members. i am a fan of shinee and have always thought that nobody can compare with how their togetherness shines in every performance until i saw dream. also, you mentioned jaemin being more confident during this era, and i agree as this performance really solidified his center position, not to mention other members shine well too. no offense meant to mark because i love the guy, but i always think he has a tendency to overshadow his members when performing, it is not his fault he is just too good. suddenly, it reminded me of a group performance in a dance class in school but the teacher is not grading the group dance but individual dance so you focus more on your own performance. it is my opinion, please don't come at me.

I totally agree with you. Mark still shines well with the group, but it is nice to hear and see more of the members some times!

I think both Mark and Haechan benefitted and had costs from being in both Dream and 127. They got a LOT of experience and both grew in confidence due to that (just a theory). So even though it was incredibly tiring they learned so much. And Doyoung once said that Mark didn't start out as a really confident rapper but he worked so incredibly hard over the years that he just became an insurmountable wall (it's part of why he can hold his own on stage in SuperM with icons like Taemin, Kai and Baekhyun). I think of SHINee sometimes too and I've heard others mention the comparison. Dream is the only group that debuted at the kind of young age that SHINee did and I do think that's a part of it. Their musical styles are very different but in terms of time together and stage presence/amazing choreo, I think the comparison is interesting although comparison is always tricky... It's hard to find your feet vocally and musically (which is part of their growing confidence I think) without that experience. And also when your voice is changing (only slightly kidding). So with just growing older, more Dream shows/touring under their belt, powerful songs and more mini albums and with the necessity to continue with one less member (especially a powerhouse like Mark), they developed a lot and know what they can do even more. We've seen them a little bit on stage again as OT7 when they performed Deja Vu as part of NCT2020 and I'd be interested to hear if Don and everyone notice a more mature, even dynamic there with Mark back in the mix?? Granted it's just one song so... I reeeeeeally hope Dream get a full album this year.

Same but I also read that Dream's target is the korean market whether 127 is more the international one. And the sync is very important for idols group, in Korea. So maybe that's why they have this kind of choreo with perfect sync. And also the fact that they grew up together for so many years since their youngest ages. And bravo to Chenle and Renjun, it must have been not so easy to fit in the group and catch up with the 5 others boys. Really hard working boys !

Recently I found this little nugget of NCT Dream dancing and was SUPER surprised by Renjun... you can clearly see his ballet training here. He's been my bias for awhile, because his vocals are gorgeous and he seems like a genuinely sweet kid... but damn, add dance ability to the list. Probably dream is the only kpop group that consider each other as BFF (I mean all of them only have each other 😅) they don't have close school friends cuz even back when they're studying jeno jaemin haechan mark were stuck together. Usually you will have BFF during your HS days but Dream member didn't have opportunity of having one cuz they chose to chase their dream at an early age. But the I know they have each other, they even have FRIENDSHIP ring and Bracelet hahahahhaha. I think the bond they had that started at young age creates this synergy.

the dance style in every subunit is impacted by their main dancer i guess. nct 127 is sharper and quick, some isolation because of taeyong, jisung in nct dream really good in popping and locking make the style for them and ten in wayv make the dance more groove, wavy and fluid. that's what i see :)

I totally agree. Since NCT Dream debuted with a young and fresh concept, not all ppl welcomed them as much as the other units. But honestly, when Boom entered, Dream just found their sound and style. Given that the 3 vocalists, Renjun, Haechan and Chenle are the powerhouse with such amazing vocals. Jeno as a rapper, and Jaemin as a low/alto rapper in the group. Jisung as the main dancer and center of performance just gives something else, and overall none of them have a dancing hole. Their heights are just the same so it looks perfect when performing. Plus they're very young but VERY CAPABLE. There are still so many room for improvements & room for so many musics in the future. And they can pull of any concept and we saw it all from Chewing Gum, a very very young concept up to Go, Boom and Ridin' as they showed their mature side. Just NCT DREAM.

😭so glad to hear that dream is still your fav unit...me too😭 There is actually a stage called Trigger the Fever, which is one of my favorite Jeno stage.... Their energy in that song is so bright it just make me super happy. But Jeno have like almost no lines in that song 😢😢..... Also the stage for Stronger in this album is super cool too. The lyrics really don't lie, the innocent children are no more, they all grew up so well and they're oozing manliness. 😂 I love the first verse so much, when we have the minimal instrumental in the back and we hear the rappers Jeno and Jaemin into Jisungs deep voice and then they literally explode and we hear Haechan's dreamy vocals and extra instrumentals. It's so smooth, truly amazing. Their dance is great as usual, everyone in sync as always, it's so pleasing to watch. I can see why you say that the chorus feels so slow, but to me, they hit every "boom" from the lyrics just right. I feel like it suits it better especially with the powerful pre-chorus, but that might be just me! And it's very iconic too. Boom is one of my favorite songs from them, the artistic MV, the catchy hook/chorus and dance part (the unique boom move), and the wonderful vocals and the damn well-fitting suits haha. This and Déjà Vu are my top upbeat songs from them actually, sadly we don't have an official dance practice for DV, there are a few stages though. I'm sure you'd like it! Thanks for the vid!

I kinda want to see you react to variety shows about them too(just to get a glimpse of their personality) their latest nct dream lab is really hilarious. It’s most likely on purpose? And yeah i agree Jeno also has the most manliest presence to me too, in dream at least(and I think it’s because of his facial structure, body and his actual presence when performing. He has a more calm aura when he isn’t performing though). Fun fact, or not really a fact. Just an observation as a Jaemin bias. He has interesting evolution in NCT. I’m talking about how SM perceives his worth. He used to always be in the sidelines with very little lines, but he steadily climbed his way to being a center of dream under nctzen’s noses. SHINee are just legends though and even though the journey to see it all would be long they have some of the most iconic choreographies in all of kpop (and stunning musical legacy).
