The STRONGEST Way to Join Extrusion | Bolt Connector | Build Anything with Aluminum Extrusion

The Bolt Connector is one of the strongest ways to connect extrusion together, so we often use this method for joints where weight load is a potential concern! You'll need a pre-drilled hole, a barrel, 2 screws with T-nut bolts, and a locating pin. Adjusting the joint is as easy as loosening the screws, and cap covers are available for a clean, aesthetic finish.
Pros: Easily adjustable, extremely strong, cap covers create a clean finish
Cons: Still needs a hole drilled (which could come pre-drilled)

The response I got from John and our engineers, was that the most common way is to use "Gussets," and remove the anti-rotation gusset tabs first. Another option is also just drilling a "through hole" in the middle of the extrusion and screwing it to the wall. I have a design for a 500 lb moving platform. It measures 50 inches x 24 inches. Will the 20-2040 extrusion handle the weight if disturbed equally? I am using 800 lbs casters. I tried contacting 80/20 directly but they told me to contact a distributor. I have been waiting 1 week for a reply.
