Love your honesty! You don't have to be a Pilates lover to enjoy its benefits. Def enjoy the Roll up and also I'd explore Double Leg Stretch, Single Leg Kick, Spine Twist. You'll hit all the core muscles that way! xx~LL

this is a great video. I am so glad to have found this!💕💕 do you have any easier version for elbow slip on the half roll down position? i just keep slanting on to the other side so much😫
@OnlinePilatesClasses3 жыл бұрын
hey Lola, I'd say the half roll back is the pre to the elbow slip but super easy to cheat without having done the elbow slip. If you're struggling to not slant I would focus on not putting weight on your elbows and not moving your arms. Then try squeezing a ball or cushion. But, honestly holding and not resting will slowly overtime train those muscles. I hope you check our our intro series. That will help you as well!

This is really helpful, thank you. I recently started practising the roll-up and it didn't feel as difficult as everyone says, so I was sure I was doing something wrong. My feet slide a lot, as well as my butt shifts position as I roll up and down. But I've seen this happening in other tutorials. Do I understand you right that I should only go as far up as I am able to keep my feet in one place? And is there a way at all that you can do a "full" roll-up without letting your feet slide and without a strap?
@OnlinePilatesClasses3 жыл бұрын
hey @chrissy, yes some day you totally can do a roll up with out a strap and without sliding. I did it today in my live workout for my challenge. That being said, I have been doing Pilates for 20 years. Please don't let that discourage you. I think around 10 years I figured this strength and connection out. And I might have learned it sooner if someone had actually explained to me. Without seeing you it sounds like you are not pulling "back" with your abs as your upper body goes forward. 1st: make sure that you don't roll up more than your tailbone can reach down. Your tailbone should never point back behind you. 2nd: make sure your shoulders are staying on your back...not coming forward withyou. 3rd: your ribs are lifing UP and away from your legs. 4th: hug the heck out of your outer hips so your legs stay grounded. I go over this a lot in my membership and my challenge. So if you join either of those I can see you do your roll up and give you coaching

@@OnlinePilatesClasses Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Again, this is super helpful. This week I've done roll-ups twice already following your advice and what a difference it made! I now understand the movement so much better and even though there's a lot to improve, I feel I know what I'm aiming for. #1 above was definitely a game changer. So glad I found your video!!

How much does the mat cost
@OnlinePilatesClasses2 жыл бұрын
its essentially a piece of equipment. I don't know what they are charging today but I believe its over $700. I use mine at least 5 days a week. Def use my affilliate link to save a little.

Helpful. Thanks. But god, after looking at a few different pilates instruction videos, the stereotypes about pilates people seem totally true.
@OnlinePilatesClasses4 жыл бұрын
Maybe here on YT. Or maybe just what you have seen. I know more instructors and clients that look different than look like the stereotype. On IG you can find women like @size-diverse-pilates and @askewpilates doing videos. Also, I am really proud that my members have all types of bodies :) xx
