Well, you look good to me! Of course, people lose weight after surgery. Jump back on the bandwagon. Move around as much as your doctor allows. You want to get back to pumping iron, right? Go for it. You have a goal - the animals and the gym. Both are extremely important.💪🏋‍♀️💕

Loved the video and sooooo glad to see and hear Grandpa. (Grandpa does look good even though he doesn’t think so❗️🥰) Grandma is doing an AWESOME job and it is wonderful that Matt is able to be there for his mom and dad❗️Now the question is, how long will Grandma and Matt be able to keep Grandpa “restrained” so he doesn’t try to overdo❓❓❓Your whole family is fantastic ❗️❗️❗️Love and prayers for everyone❗️❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

Ralph, as a retired registered nurse , I can understand how you frustrated you were in the hospital My patients always complained about not being being able to sleep. My late husband had emergency surgery and because of complications he ended up in ICU for 72 days. It’s exhausting. You need to know that it will get better and you need to pray for God’s grace and patience.🙏🙏🙏🕊🕊🕊🥰 My prayers continue for all the Doss family 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Brother Doss, it's not easy but you have to try harder at being patient. In 2005, on May 6th, I had emergency quadruple bypass surgery. Split sternum the works. On July 5th, I drove my company truck from NC to Massachusetts to start a new construction project (Construction manager)with a new lease on life. I was 45 years old. Now I turn 64 this Saturday. Trust me, the last 19 years seem like they have gone by quicker than those two months of recovery. Love you Doss's. I watch all of the channels. Be patient, and you will have a long life ahead. ❤

I've found it tends to happen after heart surgery, that it literally and figurately opens the floodgates as it were. The same thing happened to my dad when he had a quadruple bypass in 1995. The emotions rose up to the surface more easily afterwards. It will even out eventually.

My dad’s normal heart rate was 40-46. Nobody checked his heart rate before his appendix was removed. They worked him over after he was sedated for his surgery trying to make it go faster. Poor guy went through a lot that day. They finally asked him what was normal for him. Many years later at 80 they did give him his very own pacemaker. Had it replaced twice. He passed away at 97 a year ago. Was a teacher and a football / basketball coach for junior high and high school for years. A prayer warrior, Man of faith and so very kind.

I’ll continue to pray for you Ralph!🙏🏼 LeAnn, please ask the surgeon if Ralph’s condition has a genetic component. My Dad’s surgeon informed us that his condition runs in families. He wants us kids to see a cardiologist at least every five years. Protect your boys and ask the question. I need *PRAYERS* from everyone! My 85yr old father; who had the same surgery as Ralph; fell and broke his hip and his femur!! He’s not doing well and is in a *huge* amount of pain. My Dad has the highest pain tolerance of anyone ever measured against him. For him to complain is extremely concerning. Thanks everyone! Hugs, Doc❤️‍🩹

Wow! I had no idea all this was happening. This is my first time coming online since my son has returned home from the hospital. I was going to ask for prayers for him. Memorial Day night I found my autistic 17 year old son in a horrific Grand Mal Seizure. It seemed forever to get the seizure to stop at the Emergency Room. He suffered brain damage on his left side from that seizure due to lack of oxygen. Almost as if it was a stroke. It's like I have an 18 month old again. He needs help for almost everything and has lost his speech. Thankfully he slowly began walking and is getting better with his right hand. I ask for healing prayers for his brain and that Alex will be Alex again one day. I will add you to my prayers, Ralph. I truly believe in the glorious power of prayer!! Much Love to you all!!❤🙏 Thank You!!

I had nearly died from a few cardiac problems after a messed up a fib ablation. Ended up having a small stroke and lost peripheral vision. I went home and decided to move my chair downstairs and ended up falling downstairs instead. Like you, I was afraid of falling. I landed at the bottom of stairs on my back and just knew I was going to die because I fell! I was trying to be cool as my 12 year old granddaughter, who is T1 diabetic ran over to me and did my blood sugar thinking that was good to do. Then she called daughter and told her my sugar was 60 something and she saved me. I fell several times. Have always been ok. Everyone worries. Give yourself credit... you are here and getting better from inside out. PS, you should have seen me trying to get in the bathroom with a walker after knee surgery!😂 I know exactly how you feel. I had to have a pacemaker after ICU. My heart only beat 12 beats per minute. I was deliriously happy I lived through tamponade. Most don't. I am an ER nurse with Masters degree, and I think you look great. You will see...in few weeks you will be out there with animals and if you fall and hurt go to ER, or apply pressure. You can do it, and you are an example for others who are scared and do not want to admit it. Best wishes, friend. You are blessed. Lynn ❤❤❤

LeAnn, I will never forget when my husband had open heart surgery. After the 2nd or 3rd day he started getting very sick and was just awful to me and the nurses. They finally did some test and his blood level was very low. He had to have 4 bags of blood. After that he was better. The nurses were wonderful and took me out of his room to watch some videos and helped me understand how to handle him. Then he developed hemorrhoids while taking pain meds. He said that hurt worse than his cracked chest. I was so thankful when he started healing.

Thanks so much for the update. Glad Grandpa is getting up and around. Healing from major surgery has a learning curve. Still praying for the whole Doss family. And critters. Here in Indiana regular farm vets are a dying breed. Sad considering that I can remember a time so different. The Doss family is beloved. By so many. In case nobody told you Grandpa Doss, the surgery team does literally pump air inside you during surgery. It helps them to keep things moved out of their way. It can take 4 or 5 days for all that air to work it's way out.

First, thank you Grandpa for the memories that you have brought back to me as I cared for my dad after his heart valve replacement surgery. As hard as it is for the active person that you are, you are progressing like anyone that has been through this surgery. Dad lost weight and was always cold too. During the summer Dad wore a flannel shirt over his t shirt and several layers of shirts and jackets in the winter (in the house with the heat). I have laughed and I have cried with you and your family, but it has meant the world to relive the memories of my dad. Please take your time now to heal so that you can do the things that you want later. Now is a short time compared to later. I am sure that when you, Ralph, can sit on the porch and enjoy nature you will feel better. You both have my prayers and LeAnn you wear a halo with such patience.

8 weeks to the day of my grandfather's quadruple bypass surgery he won a lefties golf tournament and said by the 10th green he could feel his sternum start to loosen up and by the end it was fully loosened! So happy to see you again Grandpa. I had never been hospitalized before until August 15, 2019, I am now 73 years old. Between August and October I was in/out of hospital 4 times, had surgery on the 18th, had ovarian cancer, and started chemo about 3 weeks after surgery. Having tubes in you, catheters, bed pans, asking for help is a very humbling experience. It not only affects you physically, but mentally too. Being emotional is normal. Glad that you are doing better and hopefully you can get the meds regulated, I have to take Eliquis daily. The only side effect I experienced with anesthesia is when I had my gallbladder removed this year, I lost a LOT of hair. Perhaps you could get a walker to use if you still feel weak, I used one for a while because of being afraid of falling (I live alone). You have a great support team sitting beside you...Thank you Grandma and Matt. God bless.

In 1997 my husband had a ruptured brain anerisum when he was 37 then. He was in the ICU for 4 weeks and another 2 weeks in a regular room. He had so much hooked up to him it was so scary so I know what you have gone through. He then spent another 6 weeks in a rehab house to learn how to do things again. God blessed us so much he is still here thank God for our lord. I know you will get through this even though its hard. Many blessings to you both.

Having any surgery is hard but yours was a MAJOR surgery. In time the appetite should and will come back. I love Matt and all his comments. He is so delightful. I can fully understand Ralph’s anxiety and wishing this would move along faster. Yes as wives we do what God has put in our hands. We are caregivers. Kudos to Le Ann for the great care she has given you. ❤🙏🥰. I love the openness regarding what you experienced.

Grandpa Doss, you ARE LOOKIN GOOD! I wasn’t expecting you to be looking this good and walking around as good as you are. I am so glad Grandma Doss and your boys are taking such good care of you, first, then the animals. Ya’ll are so lucky to be a close family and care so much for each other. A lot of people don’t have that priviledge. I love ya’ll so much and feel so close to ya’ll even though ya’ll don’t know me. I will continue to pray for all of you! Last of all, I’m so sorry to hear Bella passed. I had a sheltie that passed 2 days after his dental and I was devastated. He was my world and I miss him so much. Keep up the great work Grandpa, let your family take care of you and your animals. God Bless! Love you all so much. Ya’ll make my day😊!❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
