How marvelous! Your basement apt is a nostalgic blast from the past -- classic post WWII American suburban -- complete with linoleum tiles, composite-wood wall paneling and a Naugahyde sofa! You are reliving the Fabulous 50s!

I loved it. I, too, am minimalist. Clutter drives me nuts. That kitchenaid was exactly like the one my parents first bought. Their’s was avocado green. You’ve been working hard. Glad you enjoy your new diggs. Blessings, sweet Glenda.

Looks like you’ve got plenty of room. Love the bedspread. I’ve never had any luck with stick-up picture holders. I tried it on vinyl siding to hold a wreath and I was not happy, and the wreath didn’t weigh hardly anything. We love you. 👍❤️

Yes, Manhasset is lovely but over populated & commercialized. There's so much that happened in my life while living in the apartment. There was a GPS tracker on my car & I was stalked endlessly. My family moved me into their home for my safety.

That's pretty spacious for a studio apt., and enough light as well. In N.Y.C. that'd go for at least $2500 a month. You've done a bang up job decorating, I especially like that carpet ☺ Hope you--and everyone--have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have things to be thankful for. Peace.

I know from experience please have the basement checked for mold and especially radon radon radon by a professional company. My basement had lots of windows but the part that was Underground on the backside was where the right on what's very high levels like equal to 20 packs of cigarettes a day. Luckily there was no mold. They can remediate the radon with a motor and pipe that sucks it out from a hole in the floor 24 hours a day and then you're fine and safe 😊

Thank you for the tour. Its great that u have your own entrance. I live in Fl and want to move back to MA. There is a finished room in my daughters basement that my teen grandson used to have. No bathroom, no kitchen , no air or heat or windows. Cannot live without windows, no I cannot live there. She has mice too. Eeeek

Glad to see you moved. Looks safer. Nice big place for studio. God blesses when we ask HIM for the way to go in life. By osmosis, God led me to a YMCA job, I did it, just to get my foot in the door to a teaching position. They in turn helped me land sub job and became certified K thru 12 drama yeacher, which nobody has...but they are bringing back. And, with some testing, I will be an English teacher in the fall of 2020 to high schoolers. I am so grateful, did t ask anyone for help getting thru the hard times but God. He is my leader in all things. Turning 65 in Feb., with disability and not giving up yet!!!

Yes, that was a very difficult ordeal. Everything had to be washed before I could use it. I'm so happy to be out of that apartment into a clean environment

Love your new place. I’d be so happy in something like that. If dishwasher doesn’t work or smell you can use as a big dish drainer to dry your dishes or to store cookie sheets or ....anything. I hope you will love living there! So much more room too!

Gail Resources .. I use my dishwasher I never use to store extra glasses and dishes . My cabinets are rather shallow and the plates don’t fit anyway . I don’t have much cabinet space so it really helps. It does work but since it’s just me and hubby I prefer to hand wash what little dishes we use ..

Very nice Glenda ♥️ I also have a studio but yours is much bigger than mine. The stairs are a little scary to me so please be careful especially if you have snow on your boots. I lived in some apts. that had dishwashers and I always used them for storing Tupperware because I wasn’t brought up with anything fancy so didn’t feel the need for it 🙂

Thanks for the tour of your apartment, Glenda. It's much bigger than I expected and comfy. I like the open smaller studio I'm in but also like to separate my sleeping area from the rest of the studio so I got 2 room dividers from Wayfair on sale. They're on tension rods up to the ceiling and down to the floor. I was trying to avoid putting holes in the ceiling with a track for a curtain as a divider like in the hospitals. Your TV area is so inviting, I'm sure you will be able to enjoy many years of wonderful memories in your new home--with or without companionship 😉👍

Your new place looks very pretty. I bet a coat of white paint on the paneling would really brighten up the space. Don’t disturb the tile! My mom and dad had tile that looks very similar and It had asbestos in it.
