Is there a lexicon of these ancient Chinese pictograms that one can find or purchase for study of the Chinese classics and especially the Tao Te Ching?

From my knowledge, unfortunately, there is no study program or book on studying the ancient text. In my Tao te ching session, I always throw in few characters to help the audience to learn about the formation of the pictogram.
