Canada's CF-18 Demonstration team made an announcement that they would visit the Mach Loop on their way to RAF Fairford for the Royal International Air Tattoo 2024. With every car park in the loop rammed, expectations were high. Captian Caleb "Tango" Robert didn't disappoint as he flew the loop like he'd done it hundred times before.
Ive also included some footage from the week after RIAT at a different location in the loop where we got some great passes from our American friends in their F-35 Lightnings based at RAF Lakenheath along with some Qatari Emir Air Force Hawks and not forgetting the Royal Air Force in the majestic Airbus A400M and some Texans
some info on the CF-18 Demonstration Team in the link here

Enjoy the video

@@guidosarducci3047 I don't think there's any competition between the USAF and the RCAF. We're the closest allies by a very long shot. Collectively we produce the best soldiers, sailors and pilots. Canada and the US have the ultimate bromance and as a Canadian I wouldn't change that.

I was an Airframe Tech in 410 Sqn for 10 years, and we were usually the Sqn that formed the CF-18 Demo Team, although I was never on it. I DID work on several of the Demo planes (My Daughter's name was painted on the 2000 one along with 1999 other local students' names!), and I knew the person who designs the paint jobs - Jim Belleveau! VERY talented man! And Kudos to the guys who actually paint it!

Amazing what a little paint can do for a 40 year old F18! I was a kid living at the Cold Lake Air Force base when the first one arrived in '82. A big step up from our F104's and F5's. Can't wait to see our colors on the F35's in a few years.

I've never seen this Canadian livery before. What's the story there?
@NBAFan18
@NBAFan18 Ай бұрын
@@adrianleusink1970so basically every year the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) creates a new livery for their CF18 Demonstration team. This year, it is the 100th anniversary for the Royal Canadian Air Force, so they came up with that design. For example, on the left stabilizer they have all sorts of aircraft. This represents each roles of air power in the RCAF Fighter force: CF18 Maritime aviation: CH148 cyclone helicopter Search and rescue: CC130 Hercules Tactical airlift: CC177 (C17 globe master) Community outreach: CT114 tutor(snowbirds) RCAF personnel are represented with three silhouettes on the Demo Hornet’s starboard (right) vertical stabilizer, depicting a non-commissioned member, an officer and a pilot. basically just represents the history and heritage over the past 100 years of the RCAF. Also this year for the first time the jet features a full livery which covers the underbelly where you can see a maple leaf with the RCAF 100 logo. Hope this helps! Happy 100th RCAF anniversary 🎉😂

@@DafyddPhillips Actually - they usually leave it in the fancy colours till it's time for a regular repaint - even plain grey paint is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE - due to special properties - like Radar absorption, IRR, etc. so they don't like to repaint unless it's absolutely necessary. I've got several pics of 2 or even 3 former airshow planes (usually 2 years apart) flying together. I was in the Squadron that usually supplied the planes (410 Sqn) for 10 years and have pics of them from 1998 to 2006.

A little clarification is always needed when talking about the CF-18. Mainly because some folks repeat incomplete misinformation. Firstly, America has some old jets as well. Noting new in this. Secondly Canadian CF-188's, the official title, have been updated over the years. They are not the early 1980's model! The most recent update has very sophisticated radar on a number of these aircraft. And yes, the F-35a is coming to the RCAF. With all of this a period of time will exist where Canada will be operating both the CF-188's and F-35a. This should be an exciting time for the RCAF.
