I don't know where these none-Buddhist get their information from, but the information presented here is absolutely wrong about the meanings and symbols, and they are not burial reliquaries. I know from many years, being a Buddhist myself. I could elaborate here but simply put, stupas represent the speech, mind, and body of the Buddha, they hold the contents of many millions of consecrated precious blessings and prayers, The wheel represents the wheel of Dharma, the teachings of the Buddha according to the karmic aptitude of the one that hears according to the awareness. The Stackings represent levels of consciousness. Thereafter it represents the Actual Buddha himself, which is to say, " The Enlighted One.
