The stupidity of social norms that infect the minds of the masses is exposed by the great sages who have gone beyond the pale of enlightenment in the greatest spiritual story ever told. What is the essence of this unconscious stupidity? In this episode of The Sacred Word, I will explain an important verse from the Ashtavakra Gita, a text one is ready to assimilate after enlightenment. The Ashtavakra Gita is for those to absorb oneself in the presence of the Ultimate Reality after awakening.

'Abiding within the Atman' implies that there is someone separate from the Atman who has the choice and freewill to experience the benefits from 'abiding' within it. This dualistic teaching clearly contradicts your claim of 'nothing to lose, nothing to gain'.

When I was younger I deeply believed that everything was connected and everything was god in different expressions but I grew up in a very cult like Christian house hold I remember trying to tell my maternal grandma this and she immediately shut me down talking about "thats not in the bible!" After getting older and going through many mental transformations I realize my younger self was more right then any other religious belief that was being hammered and taught to me. When I reached a point in ny life were I completely gave up Christianity, followed by a deep depression. Is when I started having prophetic dreams that felt very important and my intuition told me to pay attention to it. I told ppl in my family and a friend and with a matter of months both the dreams I had played out in real life just as they had in the dreams. It was like the universe had gave me a nod saying that I was on the right path.

Christianity gets in there and breaks things down into pieces. It separates you from the universe, it separates you from others who don't think like yourself or believe the way you do.. and most importantly it separates humans from God. This is organized religion for the purpose of control. It creates a chasm between humans and God, by driving it in that you're a sinner not worthy, and that God is " Out there ", separated from humanity, and you can only hope to achieve and reach God. And that you have to search and search but no matter how much you search, you're still unworthy and you're a sinner. This is what it is to break people down and make them manageable and controllable.

I had a similar journey. Many many years later I had the same dream for almost a week straight about a past boyfriend and I hadn’t spoken with in over five years so I thought that was even stranger. Then he messaged me on social media. Without knowing what had been happening to me he explained he had been having the same dreams I had been having nightly for the past week on repeat as well. That was a POWERFUL day for me spiritually. The more I embrace the stronger my intuition has gotten. It’s been mind blowing.

In the realm of eternity’s embrace, An ocean, boundless, fills the cosmic space, Where waves of time forever sway and break, And galaxies align for beauty’s sake. Upon the sands of life, we ponder deep, Through countless nights when weary souls don’t sleep, We witness waves of happiness and strife, In rhythmic dance, they paint the hues of life. In every crest, a tale is born anew, Of bravery, passion, dreams we shall pursue, Through tempests, gales, and sun-kissed skies so fair, We seek the wisdom hidden everywhere. This ocean vast, its mysteries concealed, In its embrace, our truest selves revealed, With every surge and calm, we come to see, The threads that bind us to infinity. So let the waves of life ebb and flow, As constant change forever shapes and molds, And we, as mariners on this boundless course, Discover love and meaning at their source. In the grand ocean, we remain unswayed, For we are more than fleeting moments played, We are stardust and eternity entwined, In this eternal dance of the divine.

Hi Jason. Thank you for such a clear explanation of atman. We so often hear phrases such as... just let go or to identify the false or a Koan like what was your face before you were born. I meditate regularly and I find the process is one of dropping things thus the burden gets lighter. I think ultimately our mortality scares us. I use the analogy where you go to the service station to pump up your tires. You put a few coins in the machine and then you race around to each tiee trying to pump it up before the money runs out. Whilst you are pumping up one tire your mind is on the next one. The anxiety is palpable because our money (mortality) is running out. This is also the mind of wanting fruits of action. If we just relax into the moment and are present our actions are in accordance with atman and we drop the ego. Ultimately as so many texts say if we do acts but abandon our attachment to the fruits of action we are acting correctly. P.S. Isn't it strange how Vedic philosophy can transcend centuries and be applied to our lives today.

Thank you, I enjoyed listening to you and seeing the gorgeous view behind you. I appreciate the reminder about not needing to add or subtract from who we are. The most interesting time in a person's life, in my opinion, is when they ask "What did I come here to experience and what did I come here to share?" Every droplet of god stuff in the ocean of being has something special to share with the ocean........we surprise and delight ourselves with this crazy dream life, we invite novelty. I am so thankful to be alive in exciting times, this time we are in feels like the time when we individually have a golden age and we are discovering how to share a golden age with the world at large. We are made of dream stuff and so all things are possible!

Moreover, I knew what I was jumping back into when I jumped back into my body, all for my mother's sake. Everything made sense as to the way things are in this realm. I can't tell you exactly what I knew on the other side, but I can tell you there's a reason for it all! Good and bad. Furthermore, if everyone remembered that they were jumping into a place unpredictable ( Life) and knew that at the time... they wouldn't blame God.

Sri Jason talking on Advaita for 7+ minutes! Well appreciated. Some feedback : (1) instead of the worldly life being called as "illusion" it will be better to explain "samsara" in which the Jiva is immersed.(2) This entire universe is a product of Maya and therefore samsara looks very real for the Jiva. Only in Advaita, Maya is acknowledged which is as per Vedas.(3) there are various "levels" that are to be progressively attained by the Jiva, enlightenment is the final step. So we the Jivas should lead a life of "Dharma" and not ape the materialistic West. Finally very pleased to see a young man like Jason that too talking about Ashtavakra Gita🙏

I know that we live in illusions or dreams but it's also not easy to wake up from them because the Truth is too simple that the mind can't even accept it. The ego is too damn smart, smarter than my grade in school. 😭 It will do anything to stay alive. It will pretend, blend and bow in anyway to stay in control & block the light of Truth. It's been going in circles. 😭 Its tricks are so smooth and quick, I swear. It bows to the Master one day and ignore him the next day. 💀 The Master (the Truth/God) never said anything or does anything even when the ego disrespects. He's just like: 'Everything is fine, child. Go have fun and come back when you need me. I'm always here.' He's so calm, gentle and pure! Beyond anything, he's the greatest! 😭😭

According to the Rigveda we once lived in a time where we were all one and thought as one. This age was called the Treta Yuga. Over time, we lost that knowledge and devolved into the Dvapara Yuga, when men forgot their origins and focused on self rather than the whole.

After reaching enlightenment you realize that everything is going to plan. Nothing has ever been wrong. The greatest joke is that we are God we simply don't see it. There is no hatred and no one to hate.

Thanks to Jagat Guru adi Shankaracharya, for teaching/Elaborating us this eternal truth, which our ancestors left for us, 1000 of years ago. He is there real guru. Ofcourse, Essence of Hinduism is not respecting multiple senseless religions. Essence of Hinduism is only and only protecting Dharma.

Interesting and explained in terms that are easy to understand as usual Jason 🙏Was thinking about this recently and am trying to speak in the 3rd person more, though it feels like it falls short of meaning a bit due to the limitations of language. Referring to oneself by name feels a bit clumsy also. Yet words like - my, I, yours etc feel even more incorrect. 'My' implies ownership when no one owns anything, or anyone, not even the vehicles which consciousness animates. Out of body experiences clearly shows that bodies aren't owned as consciousness exists without them. During an NDE I went OBE. When saying 'I' here it is merely to make it clear who was experiencing it. Though it would be more accurate maybe to say the 'I' that one thought existed which later one realised was an illusion. Realising and understanding this mentally happened easier and quicker than actually embodying the oneness within though. Similarly the word 'yours' implies ownership by someone else, along with separation. Of course it's all illusory. Yet some Buddhists refer to the 'core self'. I was wondering if you could clarify what this is in a future video please? From what oneself gathered it refers to karma people are born with and innate talents and interests but I'm curious to know what you would think. 'You' I say for want of a more apt word... once again one is stumped due to language limitations. Reality is still Maya after awakening oneself... Still a dream but it's contented like you say. More consistent and relaxed contentment, along with the genuine play and laughter of Lila. The dream before was more a 24/7 nightmare/daymare which was merely an out of control distortion and like living a lie with occasional glimpses of the true underlying nature we all have.

While I’m here for discussions of philosophy and spirituality, one must acknowledge that politics and social orders will naturally arise. There will be situations where death occurs, intentionally or unintentionally. There will be limited resources, water and food for example. Spirituality can inform one’s approach to these matters but to act as if nothing matters and you should just ‘live life to the fullest’ is just not grounded in the material reality in which we find ourselves trapped.
